The combination of "Turn & Burn" and "Wonder Women View" it's the most annoying situation i have ever encounter in IL2.
I can't stand the simmers that shoot at you in a hard turn over and over again with pinpoint precision.
I'm not talking about lucky shoots i'm talking about my plane going "kaboom" after taking massive cannon punishment while i'm yanking my joystick so hard that the deflection shoot has to be made in a blind situation.
I guess the actual "fair play" resumes at winning no mater the costs.
My sugestion for the developers would be to remove WWV option in multiplayer mode. It's just my opinion but i can take your flames if you need to shoot but please don't use "WWV": http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Friend, if you don't like it, don't fly on no-cockpit servers. It's as easy as that. If kids want to play, let them play. You go elsewhere and be a "real" pilot.

Jasko

I don't understand. Are you flying with your cockpit on while everyone else isn't? And that they're somehow lamers because of your disadvantage?

Or, are you just unable to perform effective evasive manuevers in that environment?

Either way, Rajvosa has your solution.

I think evasive manuevers doesn't exist in that environment with all those little arrows or better said are innefective against an average simmer. But you are right i can't effectively fly in WWV because i get stomac sick and my lips start moving like i'm a fish in a bowl.

Please tell me where , besides UBI, I can find full real servers, because on UBI one can hardly find such a server with people on it.

I thought it was the Linda Blair view, as in her head turned all the way round in the movie Exorcist.
Not the Wonder Woman view, as in Linda Carter http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Wonderwoman = No Cockpit View

Your best bet overall is to fly in cockpit on servers with no externals. That way there is no "Spider-Sense" (thanks Stiglr http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) pressing of F6 to use as an external radar and no defelction shooting where there shouldn't be deflection shooting http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hi.
I play WWV.
My eyesight is below average. When without icons i can spot a plane only when upclose not to mention friend/foe. When in the cockpit i have to peer at the instruments for too much time to see what my speed/alt are.

As to the maneuvers. I guess you have to take even more maneuvers in WWV than in the FR. As soon as you are engaged its either you or him. Noone can disappear from the view and run away. Beleive me, you can outmanuever your opponent even if he has advantage (sometimes at least).

Atop of that i love this game and i love hanggliding.

Best wishes.

Success in life is measured by the amount of joy we experience.

Good post, Koan. Without a doubt you need your whole bag of tricks to succeed in no-pit. In Full, it's easy to escape and stay in blind spots with very little maneuvering.

Plus....(whisper) It's ten times easier to warp in FR when nobody can actually see you.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif (/whisper)

I fly mostly pit-on with externals and pit-off with externals, occasionally full real on a tight MAX LAG server. Having pit-on just cuts down the high deflection shots, so you just take a little longer to maneuver for a good shot. Usually from under the bad guy for me, as he fills my sight and I can lead him better.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The main difference in FR is finding the bogey. After that, the dogfight is basically the same. You just have to envision where the bogey should be, based on no pit experience, when he's under you or off to the left or right in a blindspot. Then, take a little maneuvering time and blow him out of the sky.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Take's one to know one. But you are mistaken about me. And by the way i have no problems with externals or icon's or padlock and you should know that when the boogey doesn't see you even with these settings you can escape his vision with an unexpectet manuever, so the bad eyesight excuse it's not valid.
One more thing , i bet that those who use WWV don't know s**** about energy fighting.

Slammin`s server has started using cockpit on with externals which i feel is the best setting combo.
Wish I could improve my SA though, as I get shot down far to often by A/C I never see.

No need for old beta drivers to experience Linda Blair view.

The switch is called 'ViewLimiting' in the registry. This feature has been in every driver released since it first appeared last year.

Death_Whisper, you are wrong there: there are many really good jocks who occasionally or regularly fly WWV, from what I read and what I see, and believe me, they DO KNOW a lot about energy fighting.

I fly WWV for a simple reason: my PC is old and slow and I can get far better framerates with cockpit off. And apart from that I'm a 38 years old kid who likes to have fun.

As SlickStick said, it can be far more difficult to escape a bandit on your tail on WWV servers, because you are so visible to everybody.

But take Rajvosa's good advice and change rooms.

In other words: if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

And let others enjoy themselves any way they like.

S!

Sorry there DW. I wasn't referring to you, just making a point.

However, as EvilMcnasty, I was one of the guys waxing you the other night on UBI. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
