For those who haven't downloadd it yet, you should. It's more effective than the older version.

Me:"Do you see that pilot flying the Spitfire in the photo above?" [Brief pause] "That's not me"
Girl of my dream: "So you're the one taking the picture?" [Hopeful and interested]
Me:"Nooo, i'm the one who lent the camera" -God bless you all!

It found quite a few tracking cookies...before it crashed my computer.

I'll have to go back to the old Adaware. This new one doesn't like my computer with Windows ME.

Another great free windows utility is Avast. It's a great antivirus protector and scanner and it found I virus on my system that other scanners didn't.

You have to register on their site to get a free registration key (on the support button).

Sometimes while detecting it may stop responding but wait for a while it will resume. Anyway it found over 100 junks with my old Hard drive while the old found none http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif .

Kitt,

I've been using the old version for years. I wish the new one did work. It really did crash my computer: put into reboot twice.

I had an awful time trying to get my computer to boot up normally. It finally did, and I uninstalled the new version.

I use Spybot S & D also. I hope they get the bugs out of the newest version of Adaware so I can use it.

i routinely run disk cleanup to rid the computer of temp internet files...that's normally where those little bastid data-miners are on my system.

this new version finds those little gremlins even after i've run the disk cleanup utility. found 133 on the first run.

not bad for free!

Thanks Kitt it is more powerful than version 6. I was updated and ran v6 earlier today, and I just ran this SE Personal and got 30 more hits: 29 were files; some executionals and none residing in any temp folders aside from a handful of recent cookies. It also searched about 25,000 more files and reg entrees.
