The project DID exist. Not sure whether it was ever built or not, though.

I've never read about this type of wing for the Fw 190, although I've read that the Fw 190 V19 might have been fitted with a wing very similar in shape to the Ki-84 wing. Highly interesting nonetheless! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It's certainly a pretty looking little beastie.

Cheers for the photo http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Incidentally, which host server are you using to post photos? Is it free?

Cheers

I took the model photos from an internet site.
My girlfriend hosts my sigpic on her homepage. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Some time ago I used a server that allowed you to store 1MB, iownjoo.com I believe it was called.

Reminds me of the Dora floatplane I saw on one of those sites. Can't remember where it was though.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Honestly I never fly offline and have never made it past the second mission in a campaign lol. I guess I just don't have the patience for it.

I teach my son to fly offline using various settings but I prefer online completely. There's something about human vs human dogfighting that hasn't lost it's appeal yet. To me it's like a complicated chess match against a determined opponent and I find that very very intoxicating, much more challenging than against AI.

There's the element of online comraderie as well, always fun to chat a bit during the lulls, help people out, discuss tactics etc. There is absolutely nothing wrong with offline (and from what I understand that's still the majority of players) but for me it's the online fix http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I wouldn't venture a guess about anyone's girlfriend, but that model looks like what happens when you try to dry the paint faster with a hair dryer.

In overhead view the plane looks like it's shrugging. They should call it the 190Eh.

I believe that you probably are, your posts imply that actually.

I'm like that in a way too, pretty easy going and all that, right up til I climb in my virtual cockpit...then I don't seem to have any friends lol.

I've never seen anything like it before http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif I've checked all my aviation and Fw 190 books, and can't come up with anything that even remotely resembles it. If it was real I'd like to know more about it. By the way robban, maybe you and your friends should go out get a real job, instead of hanging out on the street corner, hassling pedestrians http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

That is a 1/72 scale model of the FW-190 V.19. The base model is a FW190A-6, spring 1945.
