Hi,
I'm here to talk about the GeForce4 440MX 8xAGP. This is my video card, and I'd never wasn't able to play any new and gaphically advanced games like Lock ON, BattleField 1942, Il2 FB, Empires, Far Cry, etc...

So DEVS or someone, please aswer me, WHY my video card won't work in SHIII???

This is relatively new card, with 8xAGP, 64Mb. Isn't it suficcient to do the job?

I know that SHIII is a very advanced game, with tottaly new graphics and features, but is this a reason to buy a new card (here in Brazil the video cards are VERY expensive!), my card won't run the game? I just can't believe! I had instaled a 512Mb DDR ram in my computer to run this game with more "fluency", and now I won't play it? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif

So here goes my system's configuration:
1.6 AMD processor
521Mb DDR
52x CD-rom
GeForce4 440MX with 8xAGP
What do you guys think about it? Will it run SHIII? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If you can't get Far Cry to run with its amazing graphics, then I'd suggest you start saving your money to get the latest Vid Card when SH3 is released.

I was planning on building a new droid around the planned release because I want a "fresh system" with the latest and greatest hardware to run SH3 at max resoulution.

UBI puts out the software the least I can do is provide the hardware.

You have extra time now the game is pushed back so stop drinking on the weekends and save for that new machine/video card.

If things work out as planned I'll even have a cold case of beer ready for my first maiden voyage.

the game is prob. going to use dx9 features and as i know the 440mx isnt a dx9 card. (i might be wrong). so you wont see any chessy gfx anyway, even if that card will work with smooth framerate.

the geforce mx serie is a really bad card so you should try save your money and buy another one. the ati radeon 9800pro is well worth the money. but when they release the game in early 2005 there are a bunch of new cards so the 9800pro will be even cheapier. and im quite sure the 9800pro is really enough for this game.

but! your cpu (processor) wont make it good with a 9800pro. it's way to slow to bring the maximum power to the 9800pro or any other fast graphics card. so you need to upgrade the processor too!

check your motherboard for specifications of how fast cpu you can us.

so: upgrade processor (cpu) to minimum amd xp2500+ (also motherboard if needed) and then the graphicard.

sorry for bad english.

i have a gf mx440 card to and you know what the thing is with this card? its acually a ripoff from nvidia so if i buy a new card ill be sure not to buy one from nvidea anymore . the thing is the geforce mx440 card is not really a geforce 4 , its acually a geforce 2 overclocked and called geforce 4 to sell more . so basicly they ripped us of when we bought this card thinking it was a geforce 4 . well thank you for the great ripoff nvidea !! ill be sure never ever to buy a card from a company that rips me off.

No the GF4 MX series of cards are not DX9 compliant.

How much was the card? You should max our your ram on the card if you get a new one. You have plenty of time to get a new card. SHIII is now going to be out Q1 2005. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
