Was the TB3 really as hard to destroy as Rasputin was to kill? It's one tough plane! I flamed all 4 engines twice and it still kept going, though slower! I finally managed to kill the pilot and copilot with a lucky cannon blast to the cockpit, but man!!!

Was it really this hard to kill? Hats off to the VVS if it was!! They produced a pre-B-17!

Probably at the time it was such a beast. I find them easy to kill with MK108's (much easier than B-17) but its a pretty sturdy plane. With the 4 engines on fire, it will crash, but its usually going so slowly it doesn't matter anyways http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

As long as the wings don`t come off and liberal use of the extinguishers it will keep flying for days.

Ive bailed out before now and just watched the damn thing circle it will not crash

plus the gunners are a bit hot but u just attack from underneath with a big gun no worries

They are quite tough planes (structurally) unless you are packing heavy duty ordanance.

In the case that you are not, case go for the crew..... I don't think there is a plane in FB that has crew that are more vunerable to enemy fire than the TB-3. Downing TB-3's in F-2's is always good for a challenge /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Marksmanship training, anyone? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Here's a fun mini game: take a TB-3 in a DF (if its available) and fly it over to the enemy base, bombs optional. Drop ordies if you've got them, then loiter and see how many enemy planes your AI gunners will take out...or put level stabalizer on and take the guns yourself.

For best results, make sure the AAA are already dead.
