View Full Version : Constant Harassment While Walking About

This really sucks and is totally unnecessary. I like to walk around enjoying the graphics or oftentimes am just looking for a glitch, chest or something else. Sometimes I'm just traveling to another mission and the constant, incessant challenges by the thugs (or whatever they are) is a real irritant. I know that if you just keep walking they sometimes don't bother you but a lot of times they attack without provacation and you have to be careful not to do anything that will cause them to attack which means you have to stop and fight with them and risk getting killed. Wish there was a way to turn this "feature" off. I didn't like it in Unity and I don't like it in Syndicate.

There is a skill that you can buy that make them stop harassing you.

Thanks Alphacos. I check it out next time I turn the game on.

London is the Templars' patch so I can understand a little harassment.
But the 'Intimidate' gang upgrade is very helpful.

Which skill do I need? I don't see one specifically to stop the harassment.

It's in the Gang Upgrades menu, not the skills. The flavor text reads something like "Blighters will no longer initiate conflict with you in the streets."

I hated that in AC Unity --EVERY time I was minding my own business and just walking around - there it was: 'Oi You! Yes You!' or some other provoking nonsense from a nearby group of 'forgot their names' - or they come up to you and shove you for no apparent reason (it was fun in AC 2 but now it's just stale).

Weird that there's a skill for make them not do it though

Well it's not a skill, per se, it's a gang upgrade (I guess theoretically it's just that you're famous in the underworld now and nobody wants to f*** with you).

I don't remember the guards ever coming up and shoving you in AC2 unless 1.) they were the Pazzi thugs in the very beginning, 2.) they were guarding a chest/bank, or 3.) you were in a restricted area.

I thought it was even worse in AC3. Maybe it's because there were SO many enemies on rooftops. And the high-level Jaegers, oy vey!!!

At least in AC unity, there is always a big crowd where you can hide, but now with those big "empty" streets, social stealth is not so much fun...

Gang upgrade -- that makes more sense :)

It might have been AC: Brotherhood (memory is failing lol)

When the guards are walking in the street and they see you, they stop and one of them will walk up to you and just shove you for no reason, and then they'll carry on walking. I found it quite funny at the time, but now it's a hindrance.

I found it in the Gang Upgrades. It's the Notoriety upgrade that says the Blighters won't initiate contact with you. It costs 7500 and I don't have quite enough at the moment so I'll earn some more to buy the upgrade.

Glad to hear this. Unity's thugs were so annoying; they made me want to not walk the streets anymore, which is a real shame.
They basically bullied me onto the rooftops... :p

Ugh, I remember that happening all the time in AC1 and AC2. The worst is when one guard pushes you into another guard, then they get mad about it and attack you.

Or these annoying drunk, drugged or mad peasants that push you and hit you all the time making stealth impossible, unless you hit them. It was ruining many assassinations attempts of mine back in the first Assassin's Creed....

In AC1, wasn't it the "mental" patients wandering the streets? They filled up that hospital or whatever you had to liberate. My God, they were annoying.

Yup, those were bad. I also hated the mission where you had to carry the box with the Apple in it in AC2, and there were waves of townsfolk carrying boxes, all while disguised and with a Borgia guard troop escorting you. Bumping into a single person (who had absolutely no regard for personal space, mind you) would cause the guards to flip out and turn on you.
