Hi all,

Am I the only one to find odd that any plane that can deploy "combat flaps", can deploy them at any speed ?

I am pretty sure that if you did it in older versions of the game, then at high speed the flaps would jam.

Which planes could deploy their flaps at high speed with no adverse affect ?

Combat flaps never jammed in FB. But TO and Landing flaps do (@380/320km/h IAS)

I am pretty sure that any flap setting would jam it back in Il2, with enough speed...

I seem to recall that it was true with FB before the patch too, though I may be mistaken there...

Have IL-2 FB AEP with the patch applied but Flaps still jam in the Me-109. What are the speed limits for its 3 settings?

Surely combat flaps can only be deployed below a certain speed due to the force, unless they are hydraulic

Of course they jam!
Try this: open combat flaps and then make some speed by diving: after few seconds you'll see the message "Flaps jammed", and the ARE jammed! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

IIRC I made a few tests and Bf109 F and G2 combat flaps never jam, even above 700 kph

You're right!
I've also done some tests on several planes (P-40, Yaks, Bf.109G-2), and combat flaps don't jam anymore at high speed! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I guess that this has somthing to do with one of the last patches since, if I remember well, combat flaps used to jam some time ago...

From posts I've read elsewhere they will jam if you deploy them below
a certain speed but won't if you deploy above it, which sounds like a
logic glitch.
