Although I don't seem to use it a great deal, during landing mainly, I find it difficult to see in red, is there a way to change this default colour?

That's a really good point considering that red/green color blindness is the most common. Somebody should really look into this.

You could tape a film of color filter in the lower left-hand corner of the monitor. Would that actually work?

Probably white would provide better contrast, but I think part of the art of making textual onscreen information is to provide it without making it too obtrusive. Red helps fill that role, at the cost of those with vision difficulties. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

That's why the USAF tests pilots for color blindness...

Yeah they really do...My son is one. He cannot see one or teh other if both r there togetehr.
also.....on night missions blue icons for Axis....u can't see em at all hardly while red shows up like a neon light.
