very interesting, particularly an episiode when a B-17 crew was drinking vodka with Il-2s pilots in Poland. An American pilot to IL-2 pilot: Grisha (a Hero of the Soviet Union Grigory Ryabusko), how many sorties did you make? the Russian replied almost 100? George: .. ?! ... !? What?? I made 15 sorties and after 25th I will be able to return to the States.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.
