I want to share these screen shots, and my story with Oleg, and his design team.

After getting my butt severly kicked over Kerch, on a night bomb run my HE-111 had lost and engine, aleron control, and elevator control. All I had to manuver the plane was a wounded engine and rudder.

My first thought was to bail out, but after a short time I was able to stablize the plane and turn it towards home base.

With one engine, rudder and flaps, I was able to control the pitch and decent rate, and I was lucky enough to have the run way in front of me. It was a rough landing and I almost hit the tower, but I actually got the plane down in one piece. ( what was left of it )_

Thanks Oleg, and team for the best flight sim ever !

if you lost your engine over Kerch why is it in front of your plane on the runway? You clipped the tower didnt you ... jkin

The need to fix that iron nose ring in the he111 or take it out and leave the framing.

Its always great to land beatup like that badly damaged, but 95% of the time you dont get that opportunity

No, Ilost the engine over Kerch. It caught fire and I had to put it out with the extinquisher, and feather it.
On landing I came in a little steep, and the right engine hit the ground, broke off, and bounced down the runway next to me as skidded to a halt.
Notice the prop is almost right under the wing, but the engin cowling is pilled up next to the tower.

Icarus -
The HE111 is great - I too have been shot up
(by 'canes over the channel) on torpedo runs and the damage is great. Feathered prop, control surfaces damaged or gone.. sweet.
Lots of fun

The fire extinguisher exists (for multi-engined flyables).

The only plane that the fire extinguisher ever worked on for me was the TB-3. Was this feature added to the He-111 in one of the patches?

In my experience with the He-111 in this game, when your engine catches fire it is time to start looking for a place to set her down or bail out if you have enough altitude. I don't recall ever being able to use the extinguisher feature on the He-111 or being able to cause the fire to snuff out in a dive, etc.
