I think that the deathkick adds an element to the gameplay that can't be found anywhere else. It makes things a bit more realisitc, because pilots aren't willing to take huge, unnessacary or unrealisitc risks.

Your servers are the ones i've enjoyed the most of any I've played on, and I hope for that they remain as is (deathkick on, great missions), for as long as FB is a game we play.

Thanks.

I'll leave it up to the others - deathkick is bad for me I know - I'm not good http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif - but I don't hate it as much as not being able to fly "my" plane online (La7-anything) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif - it gives me a chance to run (at least it did).

hehe well what can I say - i'm mostly the target http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif if i go into combat ... and I mostly DONT heheheeh .... bang! ground ? where did that come from... lol

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif WarClouds RULES anyways - I'd only wish you'd update the site (IP's TS addrs etc) and be more in the forum there - SPaRX (DO see that as a complaint)...

www.war-clouds.net (http://www.war-clouds.net) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ?

I know... I'm the odd-plane-out http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif and ya can't take that into account... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif - I'm happy anyways... and will support WarClouds as much as I can...

p.s. the WarClouds TOH I see 1/26 players all the time .... (sorry - can't join thru Hyper - I'm banned dunno why - but I'm too lazy to PM Jiri (or whatever his name is) and I'm SURE I didnt do nothing to deserve it since dec 2003 - so I use ASE - (registered even) why's that? not that I mind http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (all for me?)

I thought I would hate the deathkick. But, as it turns out, by the time I've died 3 times, it's about time to go anyway.

I really enjoy flying on the server, death kick just adds to the already great competition and mission designs. The only thing I would change is maybe to add a few more planes or have period plane sets for some missions to spice it up.

I think your servers rocks - one of the few dogfight servers I frequent.

I do wish you had all the theaters, with only aircraft that took part in that campaign:

I wouldn't mind getting together information and even putting the maps together for you (at your specifications) - I just make 'em and email 'em, and let you do your magic

This is what I envision:

Both of your servers - 1 running Winter scenarios and the other running Summer/Med scenarios. With the current settings you have.

Lvov '41 (summer)
Leningrad '41 - '44 (summer and winter)*
Smolensk '41 & '44 (summer)
Moscow '41 - '42 (summer and winter)
Crimea '41 (summer)
Kuban '42 (summer)
Stalingrad '42 (summer and winter)
Prokhokovka '43
Kursk '43
Crimea '44
Normandy '44
Ardennes '45
Balaton '45
Berlin '45 *

* might be a bad idea (lag issues)

If you are interested, just let me know here, and I'll send you my email addy. If you do this - you might have to charge admission

Keep up the good work. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Labbit, sorry bud. Server has a new ip 67.18.111.250 . Yeah i know i need to update the website. But honestly, i dont have the time right now. Servers come first and webpage last. So when i get time i am going to update it.

As for all the plane set comments and such, please try and keep this on topic. I jsut want to get feed back on the deathkick right now. These other issues will be addressed at a later time.

I choices :Leave the deathkick/temp ban
---------------------------------------------
same as SkyMonkey2's idea, your setup for show icon is good to bring alot of friends to joy your host
all I see is the batter pilot looking and shotting new pilot with less skill ( I in one of them http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

Leave the deathkick/temp ban will force to improve new pilot skill and decision:
1) he will learn how to survive
2) he will improve killing skill
3) he will learn the meaning of friends chat : "at 666666 brake...."

I think it's easy just type " Don't try to get kill with bail out so you can stay longer" , in brifing mission http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
if you Remove the deathkick/temp ban , your host will become arcade center host.

you host very good S~

SPaRX - you have your life - I KNOW - and I do realy hope you enjoy it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - I know too you can't be everywhere at once (wish I could) - I admire you very much man - The things you do for this community...

Well what can I say... You're one of the best (counted on the fingers on one hand YOU'D be #2 - - just after Oleg... well - maybe #1...) it's not easy - without oleg there wouldn't be WarClouds...

All I can say is:
Thank YOU http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif for Warclouds and ALL YOU DO (did I mention www.il2skins.com (http://www.il2skins.com) ?) well I did NOW

THANX SPaRX !!!!!

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Hello http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I think the "death kick" should remain becasue it puts a nice emphasis on gameplay, and means you have another reason for wanting to remain alive as long as possible.
Just flying then dying can be done on any server.

Thanks.

LEAVE THE DEATHKICK ON!!! It's great! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Especially as it's usually the only thing that will stop me from playing too much and going to bed so I can get up for work in the morning.

Sparx, your idea to add the deathkick was truely visionary. I've never had so much fun online. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Please leave it as is, and by the way, could you add some Stukas and Heinkels for the bomber pilots? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I recently opened up a PayPal account, and you'll be getting a well-deserved donation from this player. Your server has reinvigorated the online experience for me. Thanks for the great server, bro. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Sparx whatever you do man leave the death kick on....

It makes people value there life & they restrain from doing stupid stuff.

Its an awsome feature in your servers & if you remove it, then your server will be JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSES.

I VOTED LEAVE THE DETH KICK ON !!

Voted to leave it on Sparx. It makes people think more before just randomly furballing. I haven't had a chance to play it only once, but most of my squadmates play it every day and they have seen the behavior change quite a bit from your typical dogfight server.

Fights seems to be at all altitudes now, lot less furballing and more use of energy tactics (particularly with the hitting power from the 2.01 patch where you don't want to get slow), etc. It makes a dogfight server extremely interesting and entertaining to fly in.

Leave it in.

Not only is it great to take a pee break and get another drink, I find that my wife also likes it as well. During my 5 minute kill/break time I can take out the trash, and help out around the kitchen (clean counters, etc.) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

I'm hoping Sammie does the same on GG.

Keep up the good work Sparx.

I voted to Remove the deathkick/temp ban because I think deathkick is a good idea.

Did I read the question and answers correctly?

Is it true that 'temp ban' means that the server is now temporarily not kicking players who die 3 times and a vote to 'remove' the 'deathkick/temp ban' will be a vote 'for' deathkick?

VFS-22_SPaRX

You voted wrong. VOte to keep it or get rid of the deathkick.

Sparx,

How should I then correct my error; vote twice on the first option?

Deathkick is fine for the dogfighters, but to CAS specialists like me, who go for the ground targets, it can be annoying. It's hard to fend for yourself when there's 5 enemy planes over the target and you are loaded down by bombs and rockets. It's not that I can't dogfight, it's that I really have more fun shooting at tanks and strafing the targets. Deathkick means I'm only in the server for a short time because I will usually either be shot down over the target (by enemy AC or otherwise). People who do nothing but fight other planes have the ability to stay in the server longer. Not that I'm knocking them, hell when I fly fighter sweep alot too. But I get the biggest buzz out of ground attack.

Resident_Jock,

This all comes down to teamplay. I have listened in on the teamspeak many nights and those guys always organize themselves to attack ground units. They get 2/3 ground pounders setup with fighter cover. The fighters go in first to check for enemy planes, then they try and take out the AAA so the bombers can fly in safely. Its all about teamplay guys. Thats the "theme" of the server so to speak. Everynight, the red team has 10 or so players in teamspeak, and the blue team might have 2. This is a very effective tool and its availible for all of you to use.

I thought of something the other day. How about taking into account missions goals - a lot of the ground pounders are still complaining that there isn't enought team play on War Clouds. Well howabout if, whe your team "wins" a mission VIA GROUND TARGET COMPLETEION (not just running out of pilots/planes) you get a life or something like that? That would make the boys (or girls) in the P-38's and Stukas quite valuable to the pilots who never want to get out of the pure fighters...just a thought.

Diablo...red team ...ooooooh no http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.a few JG52 squad members fly War clouds but as a squad we use ventrilo.maybe this happens in the servers more than people think, especially with squads, using their own comms,so even though teamspeak only shows 2 on blue, there is probably a lot more communication going on.vote YES to death kick

LOL a couple of us 310th squaddies fly togetehr on WarClouds too but alot of times we jsut use
teh server TS so we can communicate with teh other Red players. I don't see alot of teh same squad flying for blue so most of teh time I doubt they are using comms to their benifit. I ahve noticed alot better coordiantion lately tho on blue side. I vote keep the deathkick.....gives me a short break for teh potty. LOL
