I've been getting more and more into online play lately...I'm mostly an offline-guy, and still am, but fighting with and against humans is the real thing after all...

Now, I just flew one time Hyperlobby's greatergreen server. I like the cockpit on and no externals settings, but I didn't quite understand the icon-settings...they were marked as allowed in the difficulty settings, but I didn't understand how they were tweaked/limited. Is there somewhere a user like me can go and see what they are if it's not stated in the briefing?

One thing that annoys me abit with MP, is that servers usually have some ground targets specified in the briefing, but the main "scoring" is the number of pilots/planes left...meaning most people are dogfighting. Is it possible to have ground targets as the main objective in an otherwise open mp game?
I.e. the side that first kills all it's ground targets "win".

**No, I don't think so. The server/host has modified the config.ini file. You'll find it in the FB folder. You can designate distance, plane type, name etc. and disable partially or completely.**

**Don't know about that. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can answer that one.**

The server you were on has limited friendly icons turned on. This is achieved by using the server command "mp_dotrange". Basicly it sets icon distances for DOT, RANGE, COLOR, NAME, TYPE and ID. A command line can look like this:

mp_dotrange FRIENDLY DOT 15 RANGE 1.5 COLOR 1.5 NAME 0.3 TYPE 0.3 ID 0.3

To see what icon settings a server is using, type the following line in chat:

>mp_dotrange

You must include the "greater than" sign. Once you've viewed the settings, you'll need to backspace over the > to get back to normal chat.

The greatergreen server is set up this way. Maybe not the main objective but we have won many maps by destroying all the ground targets. Next time your on the GG server open up the chat box and type in this: <targets

You should see a server message that tells the percent of ground targets left for your side to destroy to win the map.

On the breifing page at the bottom of the map description side will be commands to type in to check on various progressions that are happening during the battle.
