I currently have an old GF2 4200 with 64mb ram.

Now I'm back enjoying flight sims I feel a video card upgrade coming on!

Can someone have a look at my local retailer and give me some advice on a good card for around (+ or - 40ish) 100?

A couple of choices would be good or even from another retailer.

Many thanks,

Colin

Go for any of ATI 9600XT( any manufacturer- ASUS, Hercules...). It's best for your money.

WAIT wait wait----Both Nvidia and ATI will be releasing there next generation cards in June--they blow current cards out of the water just like our current cards did before them..if you have the bucks upgrade now upgrade in 3 months or wait and get a truly kick *** card from a vendor of your choice--I say save your money add a few more bucks also beaware if you have a 4 or 8 agp slot..

The new ones will be released at a high price though. I think I'll buy now and defer my CH hotas setup.

Just bought me a ATI 9800 pro to replace my G4TI4600 at Bestbuy for 300 bucks. Very impressed with the 9800Pro.

Man you made a big mistake buying the card from BestBuy. Both Nvidia and ATI will be reliesing new card this spring and now prices for 9800 pro and fx5900 went down a lot. You waisted at least $100. My advise take this card back to BestBuy and buy the same card online. At New Egg this Radeon 9800 pro cost $210 FedEx delivery included.

I would recoment you to buy instead Radeon 9600 XT a Radeon 9800 non pro or Nvidia 5900 XT. Unlike 9600 these cards have 256 bit memory higher performance and cost just about $20 dollars highter than 9600 XT

Do any of the cards on the overclockers link seem reasonable both in price and quality?

Thanks for the help!
