I have watched a couple of preview videos, and i just found out about the "kidnap mechanic".It turns out that there is going to be a whole set of side missions revolving this.(In reality, these will be similar to the assassination contracts IMO).

Anyway,i don't recall a thread about it,so here it is

It looks pretty clunky to be honest, when your detected you have to chase down the target and rinse/repeat. Plus there's nothing more annoying than having your movement restricted yet still having to remain undetected. Not the biggest fan of it, but I do think it's neat that there's a way to capture targets alive - and bring them to justice instead of just killing them. To be honest I think I'll just do these missions by knocking them out and carrying them if it's possible - save me dealing with the clumsy mechanic.

It's interesting, however it looks ridiculous in the missions where we infiltrate a place full of the guards protecting him that attacks us when spotted but doesn't bat an eye when we "blend" with the target and walk past them.

This is not interesting at all, it's exactly what you said, a boring mechanic for the sake if having mechanics!

It makes no sense how that allows you to walk past guards without being noticed (yes it does in fact work just like the kidnapping in the Evie demo, even though it is switched around).

Apart from that I'm quite excited by it. Now I'll be able to mess about with my targets...MWAHAHAHAHA! I could take them to the riverside, and throw them in to the Thames. I could take them on a train ride and throw them on to the tracks. I could shove them in a carriage, and then blow the carriage up.

We could have so much fun together! I can take them anywhere now, without having to kill them! :o

And yet all of your examples end with them dying...

I mean, like, before I kill them. It allows me to end their life much more creatively when I can transport them to anywhere in London.

TBH, the "kidnap" mechanic isn't anything new. It looks like a rehashed version of AC3's Covert Escort mechanic and it hasn't been used on other AC games ever since. I'm kinda happy that they brought that back, but it better be incorporated in way where it makes sense to use it on certain missions.

It looks beyond unrealistic and clunky. I already hate it.
