That's right! The Female Russian Speechpack is now fully underway! The recorder and actors will try to get the stuff done, but I'm not rushing them at all. The speechpacks are being made because of these 3 special squadrons of the VVS:

586 IAP (Fighter squadron, Flying Yak-1's and Yak-7's)
587 BAP (Bomber Squadron, Flying Pe-2's and IL-2's)
588 NBAP "Night Witches" (Night Bomber Squadron, Flying Po-2/U-2VS's)

These squadrons, led by Marina Raskova (A best friend of Stalin's) were solely female. The pilots, crew, ground crews, mechanics, doctors, nurses, and yes, even AAA gunners, were all female. They flew very important missions and campaigns from the seige of Moscow and Leningrad, to the battlefields of Kursk and Orel, all the way to Berlin! They more than deserve to be put into this game, and they shall be! Progress will stated when I get the next e-mail from the recorder and actors.

Sounds great. It sometimes amazes me what the users of this game can and will do with it. Things like this make this game a learning experience on top of all of the fun it is to play it.

Actually, this is nothing! You should see what the community has done with Grand Prix Legends. It's mind blowing!

But how would this work?
I wouldn`t mind if it sometimes came in with the normal speech, like for example, if you fly the Russian campaign, you`ll sometimes bump into the Americans (over Berlin) and then you`ll hear American voices.

If all it does is totally take over the airwaves with female waffle, then sorry. I`m all for females having their say, but not totally pushing Men out.

But this would overwrite the default Russian speech files right?

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

Nope, it would not. Just like if you select one of the British Polish squadrons, (where if that squadron is selected, the radio commands are in Polish) If you select either the 586 IAP, 587 BAP, or 588 NBAP's squadron, and their following transfers as Guards units, these squadrons will use the female voice pack, where the rest of the Russian squadrons will use regular male voicepacks.

Anyway, I think that's how it would be programmed. Seeing as it's already programmed that way for the Poles fighting for the Brits, it should be easy to implement this voicepack. Same basic commands, just the filenames and filepaths change a bit.
