1. I think "combat flaps" setting should be unable to deply at high speed on most planes, and that fast speed should, for almost any plane, deteriorate your flaps.

2. It should be possible to map flaps to an axis only if the plane had such a subsystem.

Well number one has already been implemented since long before I started playing this game.

As a rule I don't deploy flaps over 400 kph. Most planes at this speed jamm their flaps and they become unusable.

Speaking of flaps, I think effect of damaged (meaning shot up) flaps is missing in IL2... What i mean is.. If flaps surface is damaged on one wing, or flap is missing completely - it will cause plane flip over once flaps are deployed.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Don't forget to mention the gear falling out when the hydraulics circuit is broken or hit...

Try it please before posting.

Wasn`t this always the case? I don`t remember combat flaps jamming on any planes... on any speeds since IL2 release. Also, i believe Ice is talking about other flap positions, such as landing or take off - they DO jam.

I saw it, but only once in years of playing IL-2
