I've been waiting for this for a while! nVidia has now released a new certified driver. It's version 45.23. It includes a butt load of fixes. And also includes nVidia's usual performance increases. This'll be a great addition to my 5900. You can grab it here:

It would be nice to see performance differences between 44.03 and 45.23 drivers. 44.03 has already fixed problems with SC. The only reason for me to upgrade is some performance improvements.

My system:
Gigabyte GA-8IK110 i875P
Intel P4 2.80 GHz (800MHz FSB), HT enabled
2x512MB TwinMOS PC3200 DDRAM 400 MHz CL2.5, dual channel
MSI G4 Ti4600 VTD 128MB (MSI-8872) (Omega drivers 1.4403)
Creative SB Audigy 2 (latest drivers 05/2003)
Creative Inspire 5.1 5300 speakers
80 GB Seagate Baracuda IV 7200 rpm
32x CDROM TEAC
350W PSU Enermax EG365P-VE
19" Philips Briliance
WinXP prof. SP1
DirectX 9.0b

The 45.23 driver gave me 1,000 more points in 3DMark03 on my 5900.

hm, you know benchmarks are still benchmarks. For example this new drivers gave me 800 points less score in 3DMark2k1SE.
44.03 .. 14142
45.23 .. 13300

It looks like NVIDIA optimizes performances with drivers especially for new FX cards. But it is nothing for me. I wait for more comprehensive benchmarks with 45.23 drivers in games.

Well I guess that would be why they are called the DetonatorFX. I now get 6,745 in 3DMark03.

Yeah, your overclocking really pushes those scores up. The P4 is the best processor out (800fsb) right now, but they are quite a bit over my budget. Here are my scores with my current system:

3dmark2k3: 6032
3dmark2k1: 15,862

The higher I push everything, the higher it goes, but with this PC2700 RAM, I'm sort of limited. So what were your scores with that 9800Pro you had? I'm curious to see the difference.

My system:

AMD XP 3000+ @ 2.23Ghz
1 gig of Corsair DDR PC2700 RAM @354Mhz
Radeon 9800 Pro video w/TV out core @434, mem @720

My 9800Pro scores were around the same as yours. And actually 3DMark03 has nothing to do with your processor or ram. It's been proven that it solely depends on the speed of your video card.

Yeah, I've noticed vast improvements with 3dmark2k1, but with 3dmark2k3, it's stayed pretty much the same.

I wonder if nVidia has dropped in another one of those bugs...LOL, just kidding.

You better be kidding, lol. nVidia and Futuremark have cleared all that up. It was because Futuremark didn't understand nVidia's approach to driver optimizations. So technically it wasn't a bug. And nVidia has rejoined the Futuremark program.

LOL, yeah, if Nvidia didn't sort out their differences, they'd probably lose a lot of buisness, because the Futuremark benchmarks are probably the most popular. Anywho, I hope ATI drops some major optimisations into the 3.7 drivers as well as a fix for NOLF2. When you approach a wall, the left side of the screen goes gray. The new Omega drivers fix it, but I get better framerates and benchmarks with the 3.6 drivers.

Here's hoping for better ATI drivers,

That stinks. I can't wait for Tron 2.0! Sorry, I just had to throw that in there because Monolith made NOLF2 and Tron 2.0. But it seems like ATI has pretty many problems with their drivers.

Okay, so what you are saying is that this new driver will fix almost ANY bug INCLUDING the "lighting and shadow problems" everyone is squaking about???? If so, please e-mail me and lemme know what EXACTLY the new driver does okay? Hope this works. BTW will it work with my Gforce FX 5700 Ultra card? Because that's what I'm using right now.
