I haven't kept up with any information regarding Syndicate as I'm not interested in picking it up.
I've been an AC fan since 2007 but have recently lost interest due to the storyline direction the series has taken and the lack of emphasis that goes into the modern-day element of the game, which to me was the most crucial part of the entire story.

I would, however, like to know if it is making a return in Syndicate? Has there been any information about it? I hope I'm allowed to make a new thread to find out. Thanks.

The creative director said they have something in store for us, regarding the modern day, that he's sure the fans will love. He also said we'll find out more later in the summer, however that never happened...

Yeah, I remember it... being a gigantic disappointment and in retrospect, a clumsily-constructed joke of a plot that should have been recognized by us all as a hopelessly-jumbled mess left behind by a revolving door of writers who never had a universal plan for it.

I really wish we will have a descent present day story with a new protagonist. The best would be one of the Assassins Team seen in the Assassin's Creed Initiates Surveillance. The story must go on and not only the past (for example finding a Sage's corpse for it's DNA. Also, please bring back Assassin's Creed Initiates.

I think that is what they said for Assassin's Creed 4:Black Flag as I remember.

But if they had a focused writing team MD could've been great. I loved it up until AC 3 where it went downhill in the very end.
