Salute! Do you guys know any good tactic about attacking he-111 with hurricane mk.1? Always the rear-gunners get me... It took only 0.5 second burst from them, to take me down... I rwally need help!

I dive at them from the front 11 to 2 O'Clock position.

As you pass them, make sure your belly is towards the He-111 or you could catch a stray round in the mellon.

Make sure you come in at maximum speed... start high and dive down at full throttle.

Aim for their wings, they are weakest there.

always attack w/ a *huge* energy advantage. You want to spend as little time in the gunners 'cone of fire' as possible. Also you want to make passes from a high angle of attack. Remember, the harder the shot is for you, harder the shot is for the gunner.

As far as the specific AC your talking about, you need to make good use of you many small caliber machine guns.

The HE111 is vulnerable from the front. Few shots to the crew compartments and engine cowling are effective.

The HE111 is most vulnerable in the wings, wing roots, and engine nacelles when attacking from the rear. The wing roots tend to disintegrate when hit. Damage to the engine nacelles causes engine failure (or hindered performance @ the least), smoke, fire and explosions. the wing tips are prone to catch fire or break off.

The thing to remember w/ the .303 MG of the hurri is that they are most effective @ short range. Just because you can score hits on bombers from a great distance doesn't mean you should. Outside of convergence, only a small % of your shells are striking the target, and scattered hits w/ small caliber ammo is ineffective. At short range however, the hurri's MG spray deadly hail of led @ the target that shreds, punctures, and ignites. A one second burst @ 100m or less should destroy any fighter, and at least disable any bomber.

Some stuff in this (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=23110283&m=132100602&p=1) thread on the subject. Along with a few others under a forum search for "Hurricane".

In general, I find high beam attacks work reasonably well. I get on much better with the Heinkel's top gunner than the chap below, who seems to be lethal.

If you get your convergence right, the kill box on the Heinkel seems to be the front fuselage and inner wings/engines. There's lots of targets for your MG's in that area and well placed burst may be all you need. Don't waste ammo shooting the wings outboard or the rear fuselage (especially as the latter generally puts you at more risk from defensive fire).

Cheers,
