Don't lock this thread. As FMs we have a right to know: what is being done about the spam issue? It's gone on for months now. Are we to expect the spam threads are here to stay forever and we'll just have to avoid the forums at certain times or is there actually a resolution in sight? Please advise.

Seriously though, I don't know. The tech guys aren't saying much, but the problem's a lot better then it was several weeks ago, so I guess they're working something...

Sure it's annoying, but In all honesty we don't need (have a right to) anything.
(this thread may itself be considered spam)

There are still episodes, but seems less than it was (no longer 21 pages !),
So long as no-one clicks on the things, how can the trouble of posting them be of any value to a spammer/hacker?

Silly post. Am I dropping links about love gurus, karma sutra and viagra? No? Then zip it.
And whilst the spammer isn't benefitting, the FMs are suffering having to scrub through pages of spam just to find relevant threads.

Thanks for the response. I just hope it will be resolved soon.

Gently there guys. Just for the record, it would only become spam if you posted this all over the place, as with the actual spam.

Welcome. This really ought to go in the BUWYWL thread, but as it's effectively a system notice, I'll leave it, so people know what's going on.

We are doing our best to take care of this but I doubt all of it will ever be gone forever as no Forum or online site is entirely free of it. It is a lot better than it was at this point and we will continue to evolve as they do.

Please know we are constantly battling it but posting our methods is kind of counterproductive.

Thanks ;)

That too!
