Ok, this is for all the offline players right now:

AI has been improved somewhat. Average skill level isn't all that challenging, but the AI does more manuvers to try to shake you. Gunners are more random now. I'll test AI out more when I get the time.

New airplanes are great, very nice to have. The Bf-110 and P-38 are going to fill a lot of gaps for scenarios featuring these two. The Fw-190s DM has been improved, it is no longer super weak or super tough. It suffers more complex damage more often right now, but is still a durable bird.

New campaigns - you get a Ta-152 option, Bf-110 option for Germany, and new fighters for Finland. G.50 and Gladiator now selectable in Finnish campaign.

New missions are limited, but theres about one single mission for every new AC except the P-38s.

Overall, I'd say this is mostly online content unless you get BoE or a user campaign. The default online campaign system spans from 1941 to 1942, and you don't get any west front campaigns.

I highly recommend AEP, even if you're a offline fan. The new planes are great for QMB battles and your own custom missions. Plus, the new aircraft for the default campaigns is really nice and helps with immersion. I imagine soon, campaigns for Spitfire, P-38, Bf-110, IAR, etc. will appear.

Are you saying there is no dynamic campaign to fly the Spitfire in? I mean can you fly the early Spit in the normal Russian Campaign as well as the originals?

I need to know... but I must go get some sleep now....

Negative Seafire, you can't fly the Spitfire in original campaigns. They probably want you to buy BoE to fly Spitfire in campaigns.

Thanx, Korolov for your reply.

I tried a store copy from the import shop where my friend works. I am disappointed with it so far. As first, I was not sure the Battle of Britain mod by extremeONe was causing problems with other campaigns not appearing, but it appears that there are not any single player UK or US campaigns.

That is a shame. I wish 1C would pay more attention to the off-line players. I know there are a lot of us out here, we just aren't as vocal on this board as the online people. Also, not to start an overdiscussed argument again, but I would have preferred some more common aircraft as opposed to the more experimental stuff like the jets and such. Oh well. I don't think I will buy it.

The P-80 is FAST, sounds really mean, and is a pleasure to fly.
Also, I would like to add that I am unable to suport ANY claims made earlier on the board about problems with the P-38.

It is simply marvelous.

Fast, retains E well, gathers E quickly, and maneuvers exactly as I suspected it would.
Push the nose down slightly and you will acelerate FAST. Also, the sound of sitting between those two big Allisons is worth every minute we have waited.

I'm getting faster framerates too, stutters have vitually disappeared, and the various grades of water (1-3) are breathtaking.

Even the palm trees in the Pacific map are no longer the FPS killers they were before.

I can no longer write as I have errands but trust me guys, AEP is massive two thumbs up.
I would gladly pay twice what 1C are asking, without a moments hesitation, for Aces. It's that good.

S!
Chris

I ordered BoE and it still has not arrived after 6 days... I can't find ACES in the store but I will keep looking tomorrow,

Are there any new maps?

I guess not but I do sense a need for a Spitfire campaign coming on......

You can select Spitfire Mk V in two Kuban 43 operations, exactly where it should be.

And remember you can add any plane to any campaign you wish by editing appropriate file in DGEN folder.

I tried that and didn't see it under Kuban operation. Different nationality?

You know that you can _select_ planes for every operation? Spitfire was not the most widespread plane in the USSR, so it is not the default.

Unless some incredible f*ck up happened, I have exactly the same disk image as Gold AEP and I can select it.

AEP is good and I wasn't sure it would be. The He-111 and Ju-87 got lots of new loadouts for them. This was my main worry. The Ju-87D5 with an SC1800 (that's right, SC1800) is downright uber. The stuvi bombsight makes it impossible to miss and with an SC1800, even if you did miss you would still wipe out the target.

The Bf-110 and P-38 are both very nice aircraft. Both are lacking in agility and top speed but they are very well armed and well armoured. They will become favorites amoung mudmovers and bomber destroyers for sure.

The Spits feel like yaks with a little more charicter to me. They are agile but slowish. Armament is good and so is visability.

The Me-163 is suprisingly effective. Its fuel lasts longer than I thought it would. You have plenty of fuel to takeoff, bust 4-5 B-17's and land.

The K-14 gunsight on the P-51D20 is going to be very problematic for Axis pilots like me. It takes all the guess work out of deflection shots.

The IAR-81 is a real gem. She is fast, agile and very well armed for 1941. The IAR-80 is worthless. 4x7.62mm's just bounce off the Yak's and LaGG's.

The Ta-152H is ok. It is definatly more manueverable than the D9 but it still doesn't stand a chance against a Yak in a turn fight. Top speed at low level is mediocre at best and climb rate is average. She is well armed and *should* perform much better at 5000m+ but I havn't tested her that high yet.

The Ki-84's are all pretty much the same except for armament. The B has 4x20mm's, the C has 2x30mm's + 2x7.62mm's. I felt sorry for the poor P-51's I used those 30mm's against.

The J8A and Cr.42 are as agile as the I-153 but slower and not as well armed. Their forward visability also sucks. Fun planes none the less.

This is excellent news, especially the Fiat! Now all we Finns need is flyable Curtiss Hawk, Fokker D XXI and Morane Saulnier http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I better start some annoying gimme-gimme-gimmage right away...
