How well it works!? Dude, have you been reading Extreme_One's thread at all? It's the best thing since the joystick!

Admittedly, I have the TrackIR 1, not 2, but I never "fly" without it (it's even gotten to the point that I turn my head and wonder why nothing happens if I accidentally crank up a sim without TrackIR enabled...). I use it in FB and FS2002, and it's increased my awareness alot and freed up my left hand (which used to be on the mouse, mind you) so I have an easier time with the throttle and keyboard.

Just be sure to enable Enhanced Mode and set up a dead zone in the center (so the view stays still when you're looking straight ahead), then increase the movement to the sides and vertically so a quick "check 6" is performed when you point your nose at the edge of the screen.

Now just lean back and wait for your new toy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This is what I am talking about!! It gets so natural that whenever I do not have trackir enabled to just look at a track or two, I am totally confused when nothing happens when I move my head!!!! It just feels unnatural when I look to the side and nothing happens! Then I feel really stupid and say to myself "you are a true sim geek".

But it is just so worth it!! TrackIR has for me increased the enjoyment factor of sims tenfold if not more.

No wonder the makers call the website naturalpoint.com , because it is shockingly natural.

S!

Amazing how much money some of you guys are prepared to put in a GAME! Don't get me wrong, I respect your hobby. But to me, Il-2 is just another game that I play. Admittedly, it's the one that I spend most time sitting with and the only one that I try to play daily. But the bottom line is, I rather buy new stereo or speakers, new alloy wheels for the car, tank full of juice and drive around on FULL REAL (imagine that!) . Take my fiance to dinner or just http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif GET OUT MORE!!!

But once again, don't get me wrong! I am fascinated by the enormous development that flight sims have underwent since the days I played Wings and Gunship 2000 on my Amiga. Play on, you big babies! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

It will not make you fly better but it does makes SA easyer.
I find that I can get up and leave and when i sit down again and look forward the view will always be central. Tir2 is an amazing piece of equipment that you can adjust and forget.

Still trying http://mysite.freeserve.com/bull_dog/images/1-picture1.jpg?0.9261296277898643 Still dying

It's quite simple really. Your a young bull still chasing the prize of the ladies. thinking it takes cool cars, clothes cash, ect. We are the old bulls has beens, used up all we can do is dream of yester years of youth, and finding a good excuse in our old feeble minds to get away from the ladies. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Besides no matter what they say if we are doing this we ain't bothering them, and we are where they can find us. Not out running around looking at the other ladies. Some day you will understand.

It's all relative Rajvosa, TrackIR is just another system component. It's not a very expensive one, either, at about one third the cost of a top end video card.

9600 Pro plus TrackIR or 9800 XT? I'd go for the former every time. TrackIR is vital for simming, in the same way a Joystick is.

What expensive components have you got in your system? I bet you'd have to sacrifice a few meals out for those!

Back on topic, it's a joy, it really is.

Yessiree!! I do have expensive components in my computer. In fact, when I think about it, my knees turn to jelly - so I try not to think of the cost! But having said that, I use my comp as a complete multimedia center - watch movies, play, make music and graphics. And even get some work done! If you try to satisfy every one of these demands - the price goes ballistic. We are all crazy for spending this kind of money. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

But even boys love to shop!

Money??LOL..Rajvosa,I have a wife, two kids and a mortgage, which all come before the comp. For me the home comp is more or less a hobby.Yes we communicate with the rest of the family across the country but I usually just "game" with this machine. Used to fly model airplanes, imagine six or seven Trackir's hitting the ground at 200kph? Every Man Needs A Hobby and if Trackir is going to do what all these guys that enjoy the same hobby say it will do then I wonder why I dont have one already LOL.

P.S. Profiles? is T-ir hard to set up?
