Greetings, fellow Myst fans! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I noticed a thing when I looked through some screenshots from Revelation. And I also looked at the journal transcribe posted by Earthinvasion here in the Spoiler forum. It's from Achenar's journal in Haven (the jungle age (we've been told that the jungle age is Achenar's prison age)). He's really mad and writes about finding a base. He decides to take the SHIP as a base. ("the ship. It will do for now.")

"The ship?" I asked myself. "Isn't that in Sirrus prison age?" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif
Then I saw something on the screenshot "Havens Swamp" It can be found here, at Mysterium.ch:
http://www.mysterium.ch/revelation/pictures/revelation_19.jpg

Look at the horizon above the left plank. That really looks like the siluette of the ship in this screenshot: http://www.mysterium.ch/revelation/pictures/revelation_23.jpg

You can also see the water horizon in the Haven's swamp screenhot, as well as the brown sky (everything I'm writing about i still above the left plank).

If these two places are situated in the same age, then it means that we have seen NOTHING so far when it comes to SIRRUS prison age.
The "temple-like age" (which many of us thinks i Releeshahn) is not Sirrus prison age, we all understand that!

I wonder what Sirrus prison age will be like?
Please answer me and tell me if this whole theory might be right! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I think it may be possible, IF you can see the ship, cuz I can't.... Good... I'm looking more and more forward to Sirrus Age. Maybe It's a DARK age..... ;

I don't see a ship there either (in the first picture).

In the second, I see an ET next to the ship. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It's still just a silhouette that is quite a bit darker than the sky, and just to the left of a stone (left of the silhouette), you can see water.

Hope just I'm not alone seeing this! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I could clear all this up ... but I won't ... you will have to wait and find out. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

Perhaps the ending has not yet been written!

LOL -- is THAT what your avatar is for, Boshettee!

Let me just say this: I would think we could expect the two brothers' Ages to be VERY different from each other. This is on the general principle of Myst games, where every Age has a distinct "feel". Since Achenar's Age is wild and natural (which also seems to fit his untamed personality -- his toys in Myst were weapons and mounted animal heads), wouldn't we expect Sirrus's Age to be highly civilized and technological? Polished, maybe fancy. That's what I would expect. But we haven't seen any screenshots like that.

That would bother me a bit. If Atrus wrote two very different prison Ages, I would certainly expect each brother to pick the one most suited to his personality. But, as far as we know, Atrus wrote those Ages to trap any intruders who got to Myst Island, not specifically for his sons. I would be very disturbed to find that Atrus purposely used a civilized Age to hold a prisoner -- dumping a possible bad guy in the laps of some innocent people. Shame on Atrus, if that's what he did!

I think you got a point Brett, Atrus probably wouldn't indulge Sirrus in a civilised world of any kind - particularly if there were any inhabitants to be conquered, and I'm also not sure that he would write ages to suit each brother, but I think that's probably what we'll see in the sake of thematic license (yes, i did just make up that term http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

i can see the silhouette but it just looks kinda like another one of these fat trees, and it's quite prominant, so i don't think the revelation team woulda chanced us to see it, (or perhaps they had to show it anyway, cause it won the into-the-pixel thingy)

but i do think theres a chance the ship is in the same age, (tho i dunno why Wolfies smirking here)

thanks Pedro - I thought i was getting delusional when I started seeing aliens everywhere http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You can HEAR THEM!
I don't think they're quite accurate, but...
If you play realMyst, when you link into the brothers ages (I can't believe, btw, its always been possible to link to these two ages, just, as RAWA put it, its night time and theres no lights http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif)
anyways in realMyst they've changed the old "wind whistling/fissure" sound to be a new ambient sound for each age.

Achenar's I thought sounded a bit like the jungle but I dont think its meant to be.
Sirrus's is raining - it sounds very bleak.

Well, Sirrus's Age could contain ruins of a dead civilization; or he could have built and shaped it to suit his taste, which we have a good sense of from Myst; or it could be geological rather than biological (mostly rocky cavern interiors, for instance, rather than overgrown exteriors). But remember there are many unresolved questions about how the prison books work!

On the whole question of "were the books burned in Myst", by the way: you see those scorch marks, true, but consider this: the library is paneled in wood. Would Atrus have burnt a book on a wooden stand? I don't think so. Same goes for all the burned books on the shelves: they can't have been burned there, they must have been burned elsewhere and then replaced.

So surely the scorch marks are NOT the result of burning.

I don't know if I want to wander around an empty age knowing there's an evil guy out there who might jump on my neck from behind at any minute. I think I'll pee my pants. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

I don't think Cyan were thinking that far ahead! I think the point was all the books were burned in the Library. But yes it is strange that the library didnt suffer any damage.

What could Atrus have done to his library to cause such marks?
Maybe Atrus didnt do it - those marks were being slowly burned into the walls by the very evil presence of the brothers inside the books over all those years.

(Although in realMyst when you lift up a book you can see that in fact the marks arent there... but its possibly "artistic license")
