check your other topic you made bud, the link for the Mat manager is there. Its the new 1.50 version that installs itself. A 1.51 version is out in a few days if not out already.

When you run each install file it tells you which directory you ought to be aiming for.

As far as which order to install in I don't think it matters as long as you install both parts BEFORE you attempt to configure matmanager.

I installed the 'Mat pack' last night.
The ReadMe for MatManager1.4 is much clearer than the ReadMe for il2Mat, and contains screenshots of the settings; I would just read through that step by step (you're going to have to anyway), but bear in mind it is for version 1.4, not 1.5, so some of the details are slightly different.

Really I don't understand what the fuss is about. I heard someone say that mat manager is indispensible, and others say it is the best third party mod for FB.
Frankly I can't get excited about extra choices of numbers, symbols and Regiment badges. Some of the time they don't even fit on the aircraft panels properly anyway, and can therefore look fairly unrealistic. Before I downloaded it last night, I had the impression it did much more, such as weather entire skins, and allow changes to the cockpits. Needless to say I was a little disappointed.

I don't doubt the genius behind the programming and the integration into FB, and the idea to weather the markings is ok I suppose (although not one of my top twenty priorites). But they certainly aren't on my list of 'indispensible' FB programs. Maybe I'm missing the point? It has been known to happen! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Guess you didn't read about what you were download, eh Anitfreeze. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It definitely makes blank skins look a lot better withs its markings versus the default in-game markings. Yea, maybe some things don't align properly but nothing is perfect and it works great on all my blank German skins. I know my fellow squadmates/skinners love it. Now they just make blank skins for the group and advise us to use IL-2 Mat Manager to have nice looking markings to go with the skins.

But to each there own. Doesn't sound like your cup of tea. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Sorry I couldnt respond. They should be labeled IL2Mat and MatManagerProgram files. Install IL2Mat, configure, activate. Then run the Matmanager Program files which installs in the CoopRegt folder. Read The README carefully, its all there. Its not confusing.

Run Matmanager select your settings then quit. It saves you settings and when you start IL2 everything looks better. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

lol. Nope. Just heard players raving about it and followed the link.
When I heard players saying it had changed game for them, I just assumed
it would do something important! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Ahhh... well this could be the root of my lack of enthusiasm. I have never
downloaded even a single extra skin and have always had 'skin download'
turned off. The FB war scenario is a general thing for me; it doesn't
matter what regiment I'm supposed to be in, or whether the paintscheme
is anywhere near correct (and I wouldn't know if it wasn't). I suppose if
I got a kick out of pretending that I'm in a particular historical squadron,
I would probably think it was a 'must have' program.

Still, kudos to the program writers. I'd like to have half your talent!
