What the the best technique to avoid spins?always seems to happen when leveling out after a downwards roll?
Why do I get timeout from the server(battle-fields.com)just when things are getting interesting(ie,just before i go into a spin)Is there a place where people can get flying training?

Hi,

Flying training: HansKnappstick runs an Il-2 server (currently Il-2 only) where you may get involved with some flight and combat training.

There are around four of us who partake in this and it seems to work quite well.

Please contact either Hans or myself if you are interested.

Regards,
Norris

Hi,

No, you need the original Il-2 but I suppose I should have guessed that you would have FB only.

I think we will be migrating to FB soon so I can keep you informed, if you like.

Otherwise, I suggest just using the Quick Mission Builder (QMB) to:

a. Set up some missions against large, slow targets (bombers) with no ammo (no weapon loadout). Once you are happy shooting these down...
b. Set up the same QMB as in a, but assign the
bombers some weapons. Learn to avoid rear-on attacks.
c. Progress from a,b by choosing fighters instead of bombers..
d. Progress from c by assigning veteran or ace settings to fighters.

Additionally, just keep going into the online server(s) as getting your arse kicked all the time is a pretty big incentive for improvement. I know, I've been there.

As always, it's all about [ability and] experience...the latter you only get through making mistakes....and learning from them.

Regards,
Norris
