I must be doing some thing wrong as the plane will not tavel faster than 400 (kph/mph ?) in level fligth also it is very sluggish to accelirate, making chacing russian figth very hard and frustrating.
How can I get this lead slug to fly faster and accelirate faster. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

That would be 403mph at altitude or 623kph,with the BMW 802D-2 radial engine rated at 1720hp.

You can run but...You'll only die out of breath.

Try it with cockpit off, that will give you true airspeed in km/h. Make sure radiator is closed to get maximum speed. Also put prop-pitch at 85-100% instead of "auto" which will really slow you down. Make sure throttle is at 110% (there is no boost). Fuel at 50% or less will give you another 4-6km/h also.

You should get about 544+km/h at sea-level (sometimes higher depending on map) and about 640km/h or so at 6,000m.

A couple of screenshots to demonstrate the difference between IAS and TAS, and that the A4 can do over 400km/h.

The first shot shows the speedbar in IAS (red numbes in bottom left corner) and the arcade style no-cockpit instrument in TAS. IAS is 330km/h and at the altitude that the shot was taken (7400m) the corresponding TAS is 505km/h. Throttle is at 99%.

The second shot was taken in cockpit to show that not only is the A4 capable of that speed, it was also maintaining 3m/s climb (see the VSI guage) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Just remeber that you need to take in to consideration of Pressure Position Error if it program into the game. PE is defined as the amount by which the local static pressure at a given point in the flow field differs from the free stream static pressure. Resulting in an positive or negative error.. (affects altimeter and airspeed inficators)
