Oleg thankyou! I'll be looking forward to this one. I won't ask when, but as well as the slew of late war American aircraft perhaps we can dig a little deeper for some other classics

Top of my wish list = Mitsubishi A5M4 'Claude' (Pic)

Since it has been repeatedly stated that it is impossible to include carriers in the IL2 game engine perhaps the emphasis should be on IJAAF aircraft. Following that train of thought it would be nice if we could have the following aircraft:

Ki-21 Sally
Ki-27 Nate
Ki-30 Ann
Ki-43 I and II Oscar
Ki-44 Tojo
Ki-45 Nick
Ki-46 II Dinah
Ki-48 Lily
Ki-49 Helen
Ki-51 Sonia
Ki-61 Tony
Ki-67 Peggy

Also interesting:

Ki-36/55 Ida
Ki57 Topsy
Ki-100
Ki-102 Randy

I am not one of those people that is of the opinion that every aircraft in the sim should be player flyable. Bombers, recon and transport for the most part should remain AI.

If references on cocpits and interiors are required the Maru Mechanic series of books contain a remarkable amount of information on Japanese aircraft.

Another intersting one would be the Dutch/China operated Curtiss Wright CW-21

I would rather have the Val, Kate, Wildcat, Dauntless and the Avenger. the torpedo run is even more exciting than dive bombing. Just imagine the AAA bursts and tracers all around you, you jink like http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif trying to spoil their aim...Priceless!

Ankanor, not if the AA stays as it is now in FB.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif It won't be the splash of the torp on the water but you and your squadies a/c making those splashes.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now the Chinese had a vast array of varied a/c they used, but this is mostly before 7.12.41.

It's a good sign that the first list to appear was a good "representative" list, and not just full of late war planes with major production defaults that basically only tried to dive into ships off Okinawa.

Apparently we've been told that carrier landings is possible in the FB engine but there would be coding changes required to achieve that goal.

Allied:
Grumman Cats(F4F, F6F), Corsair Avenger, Dauntless, Devastator, Vindicator, Helldiver, PBY, B-26, B-25G or H, Beaufighter, Seafire, Swordfish(I don't know if these were used in th PTO), and USAAF, RAAF, and RAF land based A/C.

Axis
Zero, Tony, Kate, Val, Betty, Mavis, Tenzen, Oscar, Frank, and Dinah.

Mainly I want lots of ships, naval gunfire, amphibious landings, and carriers.

If we are (and i hope it appears) going to get a Pacific add on i think the one thing that needs to be sorted is the torpedo realism,
as it is at the moment you can drop from any height and speed and the fish will still run true

Here here! I would really like to see this addressed as well. It really should be fixed with this upcoming Aces Expansion pack. Nothing takes away from your suspension of disbelief quite like seeing a Heinkel drop his torpedoes from 4500m, only to have then track perfectly to the target and kill it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif While I'm at it, it would also be nice to be able to just drop one torpedo at a time! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

We better request much bigger maps to fly all those long legged navy fighters around in.

Current maps = too small.

Too bad some can't see beyond fighter jock mentality.

Give us bombers along with fighters is all I ask - and make them flyable

My vote for the Ki-46 Dinah, it can't do much except go fast, but it does that awfully well.

These are but a few of several posts on the topic of a new pacific theater sim from Oleg.

Apparently Luthier is working on a secret project for this- But can not confirm as with previous posts - NO ONE SEEMS TO BE COMMUNICATING ANYTHING OFFICIAL.

How hard is it for Oleg or someone in a position to comment - to say something - please we have not hear for so long anything from Oleg.
