Offline. Two 109's on their way down to the drink. Yup, they are burnin'. Ok, what the heck are my ai "buddies" doin'? AAARRRRGGGHHH!!! You idiots are pluggin' MY kills fulla holes on their way down? So . . . I fly down to the first one, and send some more of my own lead into it, and tear a wing off it. "There!" I turn around, start back up again, and my wingman still isn't satisfied. OMG! He is shooting more lead into the doomed kill. MY KILL! Well . . . it was my kill http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

So, I flew the darn P-38 for a half hour, had some pretty amazing dogfights in my P-38, including, IMO, shooting down two BF109's. I sure wish that it would show on my score.

I settle for the fun, and fly to the last waypoint for the "mission complete" message, and realize that this will have to do. I swear, if I see that pilot in the officer's lounge, I am gonna kick his a$$!

edit: But the part that really gets me is the message: "Good shooting, Seven!" BAAAAHHHHH!

Lmfao lol.

Who's side is the AAA on? I ran this same coop twise in a row and bouth times my own AAA shot me lol. I guess they can't tell the differance between a P-38 and a BF109 lol.

Yea. It can be frustrating. I spent around 10 minutes twisting and turning with a 109 in my Lagg3 `41. I`d shot him up and was smoking, so he just flew in a straight line. Just as I came around to finish him, in swooped a friendly and took his wing off. Lucky more 109s and 110s attacked, so I eventually got 2 kills, but sometimes I return to base gritting my teeth because a friendly stole 2 or 3 kills that I worked to get... I wouldn`t mind once or twice, but it is quite often.

It`s the only real annoying thing left about the ai to be honest...

I have resorted to stealing their kills to even the score.

For every one I flame and the stupid 2nd flight zooms in and pumps him full of lead (the only time they can ever hit anything I might add)..
I wait until I see one of them on the tail of an enemy and I intercept. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

As he is on the way down trailing smoke, I swoop in and let loose a burst before he hits the ground. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Viola, even score and I get my kill back.

You guy's thinks that's bad. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Listen to this:

I'm chasing my prey, and it took awhile to finally catch him and get the kill. So, I head back to where the action is and I find four... four of my AI comrades seemingly escorting an enemy around enemy airspace. I say to myself "what the HELL are these guys doing" So, I take immediate action and swoop in for the kill ... I nail the bugger and he starts to go down in flames. All of a sudden my four AI comrades swoop in for the final nail in the coffin and pour about fifty rounds into my flaming bandit. I scream "WHAT THE HELL" DAMN BASTARDS. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Hmm... That's odd... I've never really noticed the AI stealing kills from me... But then again, I don't exactly follow the pre-planed flight route either. What I have noticed, however, is that when I'm flying a Me-262 against some B-17s in the QMB, if the B-17s set one of my engines on fire, they stop shooting at me... Even when I've put out the flame, and I'm shooting back. Now that's a bit odd to me.

They dont steal from me either... ok what did you do?...

seriously - order them to RTB or remain on station or whatever they call it.. or next waypoint.. works for me. oh yeah "Break" is a good one too. Try that.

Odd. I don't have that problem either......

How about when they shoot through you to get the kill. I have to watch my six not only from the enemy but from my wingies as well. I just wave off.

If a friendly is stealing my kill, I usually line up behind them and even the score in a way they wont soon forget, should they live...

pretty dumb aswell tho'
last nite i went in a Go.229 Vs B-17s,i switched to Enemy Frequency and after my first pass one of them said "Good Kill 4,he's going to hell" but my wingman wasn't damaged,i was damaged but only my engine smoking, and as i made my second pass no gunners opened fire. I ended up bringing 11 of them down, but 1 got away, and in the end i set on fire again and blew up. Not like that when i hit a plane, its engine's dead, the bodys like a piece of swiss cheese. but they still close in on the plane,some1's gotta sort this out! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

It seems strange to me that some people report AI stealing kills and others seem not to suffer.

I wonder if ther's any correclation between rank/ plane number flown and so on...?

I tend to fly as one of the lower ranks and DO have AI stealing my kill AND shooting through me to get 'em.

I wonder if it'd happen less if I flew as flight leader?

Good question, Extreme One. I`ll have to test that. But I do it through Campaign, so it`ll take a while before I know...

AI`s still good though. Very easy for people to focus just on one bad case....

I suppose that you could fly as leader, then send the "return to base" command to wave the ai off. You can always call them back later . . . if they listen.

I am very addicted to the dynamic campaigns. However a couple of things bother me. The first is at times the lack of Russian aircraft. The last few missions have had 8 109's in my wing and 4 more earlier 109's on the attack mission. That's 12 of us. The Russians sent in 3. I didn't even fire a shot.

The other thing is on several missions now we did really good. Downed some of the enemy aircraft with no lose of ours. Until landing.

Two He-111's crashed while in the pattern. A 109 hit a He-111 and I was nearly the meat in a sandwhich of two of my 109 unit. Landing is more dangerous than the Russian fighters. Also I think maybe if they run out of gas or if the engine packs up the pilots don't bail out. They don't try and belly land or try to land on a decent spot.

They fly in a dead straight line losing height until they hit a hill, trees or water. To lose experienced pilots in this fashion is annoying.

my experience is that in QMB, its not an issue. Once in campaign mode, AI stole kill after he was on fire and AI followed him down. Also, what happened to Bearcat happened to me where he shot through me.. Tsisqua, I think if you tell them to rejoin, they will.

The last time i orderd the AI to regoin they laughed at me instead and went there own way.

However this did piss me off so i then turned to engage them.

No Simon it doesn't matter as far as other flights is concerned.

I usually pick my rank where I can lead flights or elements but not be "The big guy" (Major or lower). The problem is that with the other flights you cannot command to break, cover or anything else to distract them. Sometimes it has been my own leader when I was in the second element or flight.

In BOE, there are usually other friendly AI flights or squadrons in the area and they frequently come in to pick off the stragglers after you bounce an enemy flight.

The best solution is to completely destroy the enemy and not let up until he explodes and you get an instant kill message. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

It is the ones that fade into the distance flaming and never blow up that get stolen. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It might happen less if you were the flight leader but you would have to stay away from any other friendlies to eleminate it completely.
