I am flying the German Campaign(Original Sturmovik)
I have flown 33 missions
13 Kills
23 Aircraft Lost
0 Friendly kills
2 Ground Kills

What do u guys think - I know I have lost too many aircraft - i think i have been shot down about 5 or 6 times, the rest crashed with AI, exploded on landing, bailed out.

Cheers
Shelton

Well I just finnished a Rusky Campaign(Original Sturmovik)

45 missions
59 AC kills
66 Ground
129 Planes lost (real proud of that stat) not.

I just started a German Campaign. The BF109 is a lot harder to get hits with. The cannons valosity seems slower than the russan cannons. And when you do hit somthing, not very much happens. I have also killed a lot of grass cause of dives that I cant pull out of. Was this thing really such a klunker?

LOL Toopacked!

Well that makes me feel much better, yeah the 109 is a hard plane to fly, after I complete the German campaign, I will fly for the russians, do u guys suggest any particular russian plane to fly and get aquanted to?

Thanks
Shelton

i'd suggest you refly the 109 campaing and try to do better.
i really don't intend to dis you - but that's a pish - poor performance. just like mine when i got the game. you should try to improve before you switch to another campaign if you like the 109.

what are you difficulty settings?

Hi Harry,

Yeah I will refly, I settings are on realistic settings, I have labels on and the rest is realistic - I know I can do better, this was my first attempt at it and I have just started playing Sturmovik.

What are your stats now?

Cheers,
Shelton

When starting IL2 campaign I`ve choosen very noobish settings plus lowest rank.I was learning back then.

My stats were something like this:
-missions/killed : 1/2
-shot down/crashed 1/3
-kills(air)/mission 3/1
-kills(grnd)/mission 0,2/1

So looking at yours - not bad at all, good start/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Shelton - i've given up flying offline (except for checking out new planes) a long time ago. as a matter of fact i've not even been online in a few month.

i might have sounded a little harsh but you weren't really looking for false praise, were you? i'm not going to say anything about my offline campaign stats, except that i used to restart when i lost a plane.

i won't comment on my online performance - that's more a thing for your opponents to jugde than for yourself.

as a matter of fact i think you did really well if you just jumped into the campaign without any kind of quick mission training. this IS a fricking hard sim, after all...

i think you should spend some time with the quick mission builder on full real (maybe icons on if your setup is not top notch)

try something like the 109-F4 against 3 early LaGG-3 aces. if you can hold your own (no need to kill them all) i guarantee that you'll be doing WAY better in the campaign!

I'm very hard on myself in campaigns. If I die. I start over. I haven't made it all the way through yet. I got about 3/4 of the way once. I'll make it someday.

Hi Harry,

Well I did 'learn' the 109 and I picked the 109 cause its one of the hardest planes to fly and thats more of a challenge - I will restart after I finish the campaign! Then I will try and not get KILLED - its ok to bail out cause many a ace have bailed out only to fly again and get more kills - but when I get killed, then I get really disapointed!

One think I learnt is this - in the 109, never ever follow into the temptation to turn fight! Always be patience and wait for the right time! What do u think?

Thanks for the encouragement - this game is wonderful!

Cheers
