Please tell me your topic title means the Battle Over Europe can be bought in the USA in stores. Please...please.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's in U.S. stores yet. But service from Just Flight in the U.K. is good, and there are no shipping costs. Most people are getting their copy in a week or less after ordering online.

I ordered mine on 3/5, got it today in California (3/12). Installation was easy, and the offline missions (so far) are challenging and fun. The new mission generator seems functional enough. And the documentation, IMO, is superior to FB.

Just Flight has distribution in the U.S., so if you'd rather not buy on the web, it should be available soon. Good luck.

Why do you wanna pay for skins and missions when you can get em free? Or is this something else?

Four historically-based campaigns, dozens of new skins organized by squadrons/groups that really took part in this theater and period, detailed mission maps and briefings, among other things.

I'm not interested in doing their promotion work, but for me this provides western Europe and a lot of why I fly WWII sims. So far, I'm fairly satisfied. Once a mission is generated, BTW, you can rework it in FMB to include different events, planes or targets. Most of the mission maps seem to have 'targets of opportunity' you may or may not get to in a single round...so you can go back in a different plane, slightly different mission, different time of day, etc., and mop up.

Kind of a personal choice. I don't have time to research and build missions that include the variety of ground action and options these have.

You, on the other hand, may love to do this. That's what makes this sim so good.

S!
Ordered mine on the 8th, hoping it arrives on Monday. Great to have AEP and all of the missions in BoE http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ok I admit it _ I used the internet to order it from " Just Flight" from the email address given on this Discussion site about 2 1/2 weeks ago, when it was mentioned that this was a sort of "official add-on" for FB & the Aces add-on. I put my credit card down in a drop dead minute and game arrived by mail yesterday!
The good news is it delivers new campaigns for the Mustang P-51d & Thunderbolt & 3or 4 of the German planes + AI aircraft from the 1.21- 1.22 downloadsand two or three single missions ( about the same things available for free on Netwings or Mudmovers)and it also loads easily whether or not you have the Aces add-on & contains a few new skins for these careers . The bad news is that it has nothing in it that works with the new Aces add-on. I assume this is because none of these new a/c were available to the developement team at Just Flight when they were putting this together...so we still have to wait for a Spitfire or P-38 campaign.... drat!
One small aside: when installing there is a menu of other add-ons ( showing screen shots) designed by Just Flight for other games . For a while I've been curious about the graphic realism of the Memphis Belle add-on for CFS ...now thanks to the screenshots shown I can rest easy seeing that we of the FB community have nothing to be jealous of in the CFS B-17...Maybe we can't fly our Flying Fortress ( yet??!!!???) but ours is so much better a rendering than is seen in the Microsoft version...therei s no temptation to change sims!

The only way CFS3 graphics are going to beat FB`s is if they completely redesign their graphics engine. For a recent sim coming out AFTER IL2, it`s just not good enough.

BTW, BOE features a more complex OFFLINE dynamic Campaign. I notice most guys seem usually only ever concerned with online, so I redress the imbalance.
