Just the simple fact that I'm going skydiving should answer your first question. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif I have a good friend, and he goes to Abbotsford all the time. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

He doesn't have to remember. Your first couple of jumps are static line - a line is hooked to the plane, and as you fall away your chute is pulled open. Then again, they may do things different up there.

As hard as you can, try to keep your eyes open and on the plane. It's a freaky feeling, and well worth it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You're right, it's static line. I don't think anyone would take the chances of not doing that, at least for the first few jumps.

Frozen in fear beacause you just jumped out of a good airplane is the main reason for a static line.

you lucky basterd.

Jumping out of planes is certainly something only someone a bit on the wayward side would even think of doing.

For me, I have had a desire to skydive my entire life.

Also, unfortuantly for me those dreams came crashing down in flames when I had my airborn physical thing. I can't pop my left ear and currently waiting to see the doctor to see what the problem is.

Good luck to you man. Be sure to tell us how it went. I certainly want to hear about it.

Hopefully I can get my ear fixed and lol even then I have a long time before I go to airborn schoolhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

p.s. doctors are dicks.

Enjoy!

Oh, and with the camera.... Dont get too preocupied while taking pictures...

Funny how hard the ground hits when you are looking through the viewlense of the camera... Wrenched knee & Ankle and also participated in the Camera Taste Test. The pictures were cool but couldnt see them with my right eye untill the swelling went down.

You going on a military or civilian jump? (Not familiar with the school/place you mentioned)

Bottom line: Have fun... It is a blast!

Well, well, well... I'm still alive /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

... Even though the day started crappy, it turned out amazing.... since the weather was overcast when I was scheduled to jump, I had to wait... After 5 hrs, the skies luckily cleared and we climbed up to 10,000ft. It was definitely worth the wait, we jumped above whatever clouds were left, and when the parachute opened we ended up right in one of them. Absolutely astonishing.

I would tell you more, but the feeling is... beyond words. All I can say is... I'm totally hooked now. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I figured it wouldn't make sense to do another jump strapped on to someone... next one is solo. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

lol sweet man.

Best thing is when you get your license it only cost about 50 to 100 or something to take up a full day just jumping out of planes.

True very true...on the offhand you could always get a job as a jump intructor if you lost your taste for Special Ops. 8) I could jump in tandem with a few hot chicks!

That or opening my airsoft/paintball field "Roguefield" build an urban setting (I plan on saving and investing some of my pay especially since SEALs are offered some $900 in benefeits)

LOL, and let me tell you, there were quite a few of them there... there are 4 levels after the tandem jump and the prices are about $100 higher - because you'll tie up 2 instructors, instead of just 1. But you get your own parachute, and so do they.

After you get your licence, a jump is about $80 (canadian).

XyZspineZyX

I can deal with that. Instructors probably get lot's off women too.

sux to be canidian I looked around here and a few places where offering the whole thing for around 600 bucks.

Then you can rent your stuff and hiching a ride only cost about 20 bucks but it depends on the altitude you jump at.
