Landing now with a 3 pointer? I am now doing this so all 3 wheels hit the ground at the same time instead of wheelbarrowing it on...

Why? u may ask, well when I get my pacific fighters carrier I am gonna need the ability to do it to get the damn cable... Therefore i am now doing accurate 3 point landings in my FW and aiming at a specific point on the ground to touch down http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif: my record is an accurate 7 pint 3 point landing hehehehehe http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

Lately I´ve only landed with a 2 pointer...followed by some running.

no, still do the standard `flare` landings. Guess I`ll be having problems landing that Seafire!!

Why bother?

You don't need to do that.

I am not even going to recommend a 3 point landing when I saw this pic.

I always make 3 point landings anyway.

You DO flare when making 3 pointers, more so than wheelers.

I wouldn't join any club that would have ME as member!

All my landings are perfect three pointers... I'll let you know when I get them under 50G's though.

Reminds of how my best training for landing the 109 in the original Il-2 was doing the Wildcat carrier landing in MSCFS2-if you could do the landing on the carrier, the 109 was relatively easy.

Still, you probably won't catch me landing Seafires while there's a Hellcat available; they were much more forgiving and designed with carrier ops in mind.

I do 3 point landings all the time when I fly in P-40's and other taildraggers, but the hard part...

Try doing a three point takeoff in an A6M2, and takeoff in less than 1/4 a runway length. It's possible, I've done it before! It's just really hard!

Boosher;

Interesting point...how many of us will be maddened by take offs? I'm not really good at either, but I can do three point landings most of the time. But I don't know if I can take off that short...we'll see I guess.

Sometimes I do a 3 pointer but I normally just do a regular 2 point landing. 2 point landings are generally softer and safer.

Sorry, I tried the quick reply...I can't get the reply or edit functions to work for some reason now...

What I wanted to add to my first post -

I had an interesting landing with the Su-30 (?) on that carrier in LOMAC. First time, caught the hook and landed. I was bloody amazed. I never would have thought I'd get it the first time...Tried again...no luck...
