Anyone heard of this. someone told me that certain sports cars have HUDs and its almost like flying a plane. Anyone know which cars have this or have pictures?

I think the new Caddy XLR has it. I think other High End GM cars have it as an option. You can but a kit and install it on your personal auto. I'm not sure how much they cost but I have seen this modifications.

You could get HUDs on high end GM cars for years. I think the only ones to offer it were Pontiacs and Caddys.

Yes, I recall one in particular, I think it was the Bonneville SSE. Hardly a sports car, though

My father in law has a Corvette Z06 and it has the HUD. Pretty sweet...

My 1990 Nissan Maxima had a heads up display in it.

Vettes (1997+) have an optional HUD. It's nice because you can configure it to display speed, rpms, and other things. The rpm gauge is digital, not analog like the real needle gauge, so in heavy driving I still look down at the real RPM gauge.

Corvettes have had HUD for about four years. You can select components for your display. Very nice in heavy traffic.

Corvettes & some Pontiacs (Grand Prix?) have it, Cadillacs have an optional night vision system.

Personally, the coolest gadget I've ever had in my cars was the speech synthesizer on my '85 Renault 25. Very useful, as it knew other tricks than just reminding about headlights or low fuel. One time I blew a brake line and rather than just staring at idiot lights for "SERVICE" & "STOP" on the dash, the computer started barking instructions: "Warning! One brake circuit has failed! Please drive slowly to the nearest garage". As took the key off the ignition, it even reminded me to check the brake system and fluid level.
