I went out and bought this model, and it is absolutely delightful. It cost $32.00 at my local Wal-Mart and is sold under the name "MotorWorks". But it is exactly the same model as shown here, couple of neat things (I thought):
Colors and camo pattern are near perfect, judging from color P-40 reference works I have.
The model is HUGE (1/18th scale)with sliding canopy, pilot figure, retractable gear, spring loaded oleos, (no I'm not kidding) weathering.
Goes together in a few minutes with a small Phillips screwdriver. I love this thing~!
Can't wait to find the Jug (none of the stores in my town have one-life mocks me) but I'm sure one will show up sooner or later.
Anyway, if you have the $30 bucks and aren't afraid to be a big kid, these models are great.
Shes' gonna look real nice hanging from the ceiling of my computer room- if I can just stop playing with it! Help Chuck!!!!!!!!

I will post pictures when I get all the decals and weathering done. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

One Question Guys are these Metal or Plastic?

I had a Quick look on the Site but I couldnt see what there made out of.

Plastic im Guessing - Metal im Hopeing.

Chuck_Older

Gotta be plastic- 1/18th scale metal model must weigh 20 lbs

I have been busy with my car (show on Sunday and it's not registered by the DMV yet http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif ) so I haven't picked one up yet...but Walmart has better prices than my catalog, for sure-

Although my catalog has a F-51D pilot's manual for sale, too. I think I'll pick up one of these planes at Walmart, and get a copy of Bud Anderson's book-signed! and the F-51D manual from Historic Aviation.

If I had a quarter for every time somebody told me I made them do something, I'd have 12 dollars and 50 cents by now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Yes they are plastic, but it's good stuff, more like ABS.
Going to pick up the Spit today, Seafire, I'll post here on it's quality when I get it.

Seafire,
I picked up the Spit today. The photo I posted simply doesn't do this bird justice. Her belly is the most beautiful duck-egg blue I've ever seen. All other colors and markings are spot-on as well.
I think I'm a collector at this point-

There's a great website store offering these models here (http://www.badcataviation.com/) - they ship to the UK too ! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

For all you Pacific fans, this store has an exclusive of Pappy Boyington's (http://store4.yimg.com/I/badcattoys_1790_70424993) Corsair.

They also have a Stuka !!! That's a three foot wingspan !
