I thought that this would be interesting:

http://www.mp-labs.com/r1l/index.php

It's the site of an independent subsim made by Mac, webmaster and member of the 24th Flotilla. I have seen 2 videos and it looks like SH3 a lot. But the project is frozen because SH3 is in development and both have lots of similarities. Great things of this game I would want in SH3 are the walking feature and the interactive sub feature (move your crosshair over a hatch and a working wheel icon will appear indicating you that you can use that. Then the hatch opens and you cross to the Zentrale. You can also walk the stairs and open the hatches there. It's a great thing. There's also another project of this kind lead by Leif Anderson.

Cheers.

This is a link that makes me very jealous http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
It looks as though it's a private project - and that he actually got somewhere and going somewhere.
I really envy people with the knowhow of the DirextX or OpenGL APIs. I struggle with the interfaces still http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Very impressive! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

For an amateur project this looks simply incredible.

Unfortunately, it's on hold, at least until SH3 is out.

Thanks Martes for sharing it with all SH3 community.

The video of the walk through the sub, up the conning tower, out onto the bridge and along to the gun station and looking through the binos was superb.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/RedTerex/boucyblue.gif

They have got the sea right as well, that must be the hardest part in my mind.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/RedTerex/lam.gif

I can only wish them the very best in the hopeful production of this SubSim.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/RedTerex/aniwink.gif

fantastico keep up the great work.

And Yes theres a guy called Lief who likewise is creating a subsim too and we should wish him good luck as well.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/RedTerex/aniwink.gif

ya, both look very impressive, but none of these are playable? shame that these could not have been finished projects by now, would make for some good playing before SH3 is with us.
