Would it be possible to use for the Hellcat cockpit (and the Corsair one also) the beautiful instruments already used in the Mustang and the P-40 cockpits?

They look much more realistic than the "white clocks" instruments of the P-38!

As an example:

Man, that's a cramped little "office".... I'd hate to be trapped there on a six hour patrol. At least everything's within easy reach!

Hi Texas Longhorn,

I took the pic simply from this site:

American cockpits were spaceous by comparison to most foreign ones, including the Spitfire. Some complained that the F4U had to much room (Test pilot Boon Guyton was 6'4"). The biggest problem with most American Naval Aircraft was NOISE!

Yes, the Corsair had one of the most spacious cockpits of all fighters. I've read that allot of pilots felt like king sitting so high up. The Corsair also had tons of leg room by the rudder pedals, pilots said as if they felt like they were going to fall down into the fuselage of the plane! Of course this wasn't realy possible.

That's not cramped at all. It's spacious.

Try a 109 pit, or a Japanese pit...now *that*'s cramped.

One P47 driver once said there was so much room in the jug that if someone was on his tail throwin' lead at him he felt he could get out of the seat and run around the cockpit to dodge the bullets!
