Will it be just like opening IL2 sturmovik, and you have the planes and maps there? I think it should be treated like an addon, not a completely different game. It would keep everything together, and we wouldn't have a giant split in the FB community. I don't want that split. I think that if it is an addon to FB, still we pay for it, but it works with the older program, it would be better for all of us online players, who I'd hate to lose my relationship with.

Like has been said before (only 2.000 times...)
BoB will be built from scratch with plane models a couple of times better.
(which I think is a good thing)

I don't think it could split anything, people needed to buy FB to fly online again and they bought it, the community grew (not sure in a good way tho'...)

(By the time it's released there probably won't be much of a community to split anyway /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif )

Built from scratch? I doubt it. It'll probably be built on the existing game and just jazzed up a bit. Oh yeah, and you'll probably be required to upgrade your pc too.

Thief,

It wouldn't take over a year to just "jaz it up a bit".

OT a bit.

Why would anyone really want to start from scratch? Doesn't that negate the whole principle of software code reuse?

I could see rearchitecting certain aspects - ie. high altitude, internet playability, decreasing polygon counts and algorithms for AI in the distance, etc...

But to rewrite? That is almost insane http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Maybe they identified new ways of doing things that old engine prohibits pr. design ?

They rewrote Netscape from ground up - now we have Mozilla - best browser in the world http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
