What can we expect from Olegs BoB in terms of technical improvements? We are talking about one and a half to two years of hard- and software improvements.
We will have 64 bits computers and operative systems with hyperthreading, +3 Gig DDRAM , PCI-express GPU`s, SATA disks, 21" TFT`s etc.

Q: is what this will (can) bring us in "eye candy" and game complexity?

A: Anyone?

Remove BoB completely from the 'picture', and the majority of people would still need, or want, to upgrade or buy a new computer anyway.

So, what is your thread about, anyway?

Try asking a fortune teller. How are we supposed to know?

Well,
Judging by the fact that BoB is under developement right now, we should expect to see Dx9.1 class graphics. Put this together with faster GPUs and you'll have near photorealistic terrain. HDR lighting, like in Half-Life2 is another thing we can expect. Bump-mapped terrain and plane textures is something else I suspect we'll see. On the whole, don't expect revolutionary stuff. Remember Return to Castle Wolfenstein came out roughly two years ago, and RTCW graphics are now commonplace. So basically what I'm pointing out is that as long you don't expect anything too revolutionary, you'll be happy.
