I've been using cam2pan for some months now (it's like TrackIR but only costs $10 if you already have a webcam lying around)- the version 2 calculates from your face and focuses on the nose - which is great if you have a proboscis the size of mine - it also filters out background movement so the wife can't mess up my flying by wondering around the room.

Great stuff on www.mousevision.com (http://www.mousevision.com)

It works quite well, and Lev Levovsky, the lead developer has been such a great help to me about doing the setup. I emailed him last night, and had the answer to my question first thing this morning.

If you are not able to afford track ir at the present, then you should give this a try. It really works. Just remember that Cam2Pan uses the full spectrum, and track ir isolates the infrared. This makes track ir way better and well worth the money . . . if you happen to have the money.
