yep you got it - Slang

A quid = 1 pound
A fiver = 5 pounds
A Tenner = 10 pounds

Have also heard people refer to

"A ton" = 100 pounds

there are others but it depends what part of the UK you are in (am in Scotland)

In my town, I have heard some old timers use - "twa poon!" = 2! - not 3 as I used to think!)

hope this clears things up.... or adds to the confusion http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

I have heard the hip kids/brats/yobs (a.k.a Neds) refer to pounds as "bucks" too.

thats "Quid" nothing fishy about it LOL!

cheers

Andrew

well kind of OT, but I got curious. I live in Sweden and No Euros here... So any other people living in a Euro country.. how has the new currency changed the slang on your money?
