Some one please tell me its not true! ???
surely they cant make a sim where we get taken on auto pilot as it were to the patrol zone. That would be criminal!

silent hunter 1 operated like that and it was a great sim.

but the issue of how "dynamic" the missions are, and what mission completion criteria will be is concerning. and no one is really sure what they mean by the patrol zone.

and the 3 missions to choose from might refer to a mission in one of the 3 weather zones they have talked about. maybe each weather zone will have a dozen different patrol zones within it.

that could be 36 large patrol zones you could be dispatched to each with a fully dynamic mission.

Fully dynamic ?

UBI said missions are scripted with dynamic elements !

but no one really knows what they meant by this. and we have had some issues with translation such as the "conning deck". i'd like so hear some clarification on what dynamic and scripted elements refers to. it could be great, but you could also say that about SH2, only the AIRBASES were the only dynamic element.

I think this feature is designed to make SHIII more accessible to players new to this genre. Such players will appreciate this as they are more action-oriented than the hardcore crowd, and will just want to get to the convoys ASAP.

Would be best however to be able to turn this feature off and navigate manually if desired - however I can live without this if I have to.

Well good. They can have it, then.

I'm sure that hordes of them are just waiting to throw away Doom III and buy SH III instead. Why, the other day I overheard a bunch of teenagers talking about how they were all excited and how Yu-Gi-Oh and Final Fantasy is SO last year now that a brand new sub sim is coming out.
