I had SHII, my main gripe with it was when I set a random encounter with warships, the same warships kept popping up, over and over again. Will this be different inSHIII ?.
Also, despite diving below a thermal layer, going to silent running, and to almost crush depth, the escorts kept finding me, how is this possible ?
I also had the first Silent Hunter, and found that the same problem existed with the escorts, dispite the fact that historically they (the escorts) gave up relatively quickly, and that the US subs were able to withstand a lot of depth charging.
Are there to be any changes to the AI to rectify this ?

Subsim.com also hosts several downloads which fix the super accuracy problems SHII; everything from limiting the lookouts spotting ability to reducing both depth-charge accuracy and lethal radius. Also there are mods for eliminating the auto-ID function on the charts ("British/German/Neutral Merchant" becomes "Surface") plus a repaint mod that lets you see the nationality yourself.
