LOL ain't seen one from Amazon this good since they were selling IL2FB with CFS3....... Joking aside, some poor sods are going to buy this to find they have an add on disc that is great as a coaster, but not a lot of use to Lock Up...sorry Lock On..http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif unless they then go out and buy FB..............Note the release date and the blurb that they cannot sell it out of the European Union, well if that date is correct it won't matter, the world will be patching it by the time we get it....

This combo is for those who already have IL2: Forgoten Battles and want the extention pack and Lockon. Don't see anything strange about it.

Strange to see your sarcasm about Lock On. If you dont have right machine to play it on it doesnt meen that other do not enjoy it. I never had problems with Lock On and ofter first patch enjoy it even more.

I have Lock on but it feels as if it needs a pentium 7 14 gig with a geforce fx16900 ultra card

bundling software is an old marketing tool. Games like IL2/FB and LOMAC don't have the wide customer base that games like CoD and MoH. Often these games sell well initially, then sales drop off dramatically as all the "genre" gamers have already bought their copy. Trying to expand your customer base by offering games along w/ related products only serves to generate interest and is often worth the discount to the software company. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's not of good quality.

Trying to expand your customer base by offering games along w/ related products........................ it would be if it was two programmes that were compatible, like FB and the expansion pack, but your going to get someone buying it because they think its 2 games which it aint.

Man, here is my rig:

Athlon XP 1600+
motherboard Buiostar nForce2 Ultra 400
516 3200 DDR RAM, but I run it only 200 Mhz but with agressive timings.
And Radeon 9500 non pro with 4 aditional pipelines unlocked.

That's it. Not too fancy. Motherboard for $60, grapic card for $130 and CPU for $50.

I run the game with resolutions 1280x1024 with 4x AA and 8x AF and medium in game settings. I'm getting at everage 30FPS. My brother has the almost the same rig, just with Radeon 9800 non pro and Athlon XP 2200+. He never had problems with the game as well.

There are tons of tweaks on internet to make it run even better.

And I dont see any competition between IL2 and Lock On. They represent different times of aviation with hightest quality.

Amazon does this for all sorts of products they judge to be of similar "interests." It is not a producer or distributor designed bundle. For example, Amazon will often offer similar deals on a new book and an older book by the same author, or on two new books with similar content.

No, man, you dont understand the prinsip. If a person is interested in one flight sim, it is very likely, that he will be interested in another, specially if they cover different segments.

I have lockon and it runs just fine on my machine.. But you do have to have a High end machine to run the game with all sliders up full.

I pre ordered my copy of CFS3 from Amazon. CFS3 was out a week and a half before I got my copy from Amazon. Of course I could only stand to look at it on the shelf for 2 days..so I wound up with 2 copies... When I finally got the Amazon copy I was so disgusted with CFS3 that I sent it back without opening the box and by that time CFS3 was already off my computer. To this day I refuse to EVER preorder a game again. Even though I am sure AE will be great... I can wait for the retail.
