i noticed that the sky over russia is always bright, or really cloud. Europe is often somewhat damp and gray. hows about some better weather FX.

I am always amazed by the beauty of the clouds and sky in FB until I go fly over some real clouds in the real sky and then I realise again that no sim has ever gotten close, not even FB.

But I have high hopes for the future, because I clearly remember not 15 years ago sitting behind my IBM praying to god that there would be flight sims in colour before I die.

Yes, people frequently loose sight as to how far the technology has come in the last two decades [recalling my own time flying MS FS1]. FB is state of the art. I plan to enjoy it for awhile (even the magnificent weather effects /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ).

Oddly enough, the clouds look more real (from the sky) if you lower the cloud detail one notch in the settings. Bonus: frame rate gets better. Up close, clouds in the (real) sky become foggy, with less detailed shape. Of course, with the lower settings they are not as pretty from the ground. But, hey, who wants to be on the ground in a flight sim anyway?

Death is just nature's way of telling you to watch your airspeed.
