nah, not going to name names.
I was in a server twice now, mostly because my ping has been so low in the game, no stutters on respawn.
One problem tho'
Every time I get on the six of one of the squad members in this server they UFO away, not once, but time and time again.
I'm on TS and the three others all see the same thing. We were in there for 45 minutes and left this last time. A couple of days ago we were in there for about the same time and left, thinking it was a fluke, or connectivity problems with the host.
The only ones warping were wearing the same squad names.......reminds me of MOHAA.

They probably use a speed hack or they press PrintScreen rapid when your on their six...

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif just leave em to theirselves.

Probably the speed hack, I'm holding down the "S" key looking at pings when it happend, while talking to me mates and the ping would shoot up, then back to normal.
Very aggravating as they claim to be community members, they've been called to the carpet for the last year for this and that, no surprise.

You are correct, I wont go back, its what ruins games as cheats leak.
That was the kiss of death for Medal of Honor and now Call of Duty.
well, just a rant, nuttin' ever comes of these rants...

Best to stick to rooms where the host has nice tight settings. Also, when you and others observe the cheating behavior, inform the host if he's there.

Too bad this type ends up in these games. All they care about is winning and they do it anyway they can. It's because they want to win but they suck. All it proves is that they are good at cheating. They are, in fact, merely putrid pieces of sh!t. And they always will be.

what i hate is when your on someones six. they flippin an rollin... wont stay still. then they pull off in a curve...they stay in curve, your leading guns up to them, and miliseconds before getting your crosshairs where they need to be.... he peels off to another direction.

its like they can see when your nose is pointed at them at the right second, and change course. yet its cockpit on server http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

my honest opinion is that maybe servers can be getting TOO tight..im seeing more anomalies now than ever compared to FB.. trying to raise the bar to prevent cheating... yet the bar is so high, that not everyones connection can deal with all the checks/balances

I don't fly online ( glad I don't now ) but it sounds like these guys are not sim pilots but just pure geeks and nerds!!!

It's sad when guys like this mess up my evening. I don't mind getting "killed" or miss my target, but guys who cheat really p*ss me off, and every now and the when I encounter one of these guy (as you describe them with low pings) it can really ruin my whole "game evening".

So I plead for YOU, yes YOU cheater, if you read this, What's so terrible getting shot down that you have to cheat? Do you loose a bet? Will you wife leave you? Please stop that "bad habit" and play by the rules...

Mortoma you must try online! Its as different from offline as FB is from pong.
Human enemies are NOT predictable. Even bad pilots are harder to shoot down than AI.

c'mon down. the cheaters are few, so few it gets huge attention when someone biotches about it.

best!

I agree with you HawgDog - it could be settings too and the dedicated V2.0 aint out yet - people get accustomed to smooth play http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Today I played on War Clouds - 32 players - smooth as an irish whiskey http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - through ASE

Try ASE!
http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html

It's got the lowest overhead - it shows (at least some major) Hyperlobby games (you can join there when banned thru hyper's provider).

For good online play - the host should place static planes on map that reflect a LIMITED number of models. Players should set Connection speed (in setup.exe) to 28.8 k or use console command (type in chat) ">set netspeed 5000" (last one can be 8000 not sure) - also set skin download OFF

Yes, i had a similar experience recently, we had a II/JG54 Df server running and then came some guys from a (russian?, i believe, they used some cyrill letters) squad.
I was on the six of someone ( i know his name but wont tell here because i forgot to take track, would i have one i would write his name plain out here..), had him damaged, was going to finish him as suddenly he started doing the cheat thing. He warped completely out of the flightpath and sometimes he accelerated suddenly but within the flightpath, his pings always got extremely high doing that... he continued in that way for about 40 seconds until help arrived...
Now, being accused of cheating they(his teammates) told he has a bad connect and so forth...BUT: I was already flying against him on this server for some time, i had DF withhim , he shot me down...i had him shot down before...his ping stayed stable, no warping at all. Server wasnt full either, no other planes warping at all. And he continued this thing in a constant, almost ryhtmical way until he was safe, then it stopped.
And i know this game since the beginning, i know an occasional lag, or the symptoms of severe lagging. That here was 100 % different, it actually looked exactly like the tracks of the Speedhack i have seen...now, it was our fault, we had the server running on default settings as we have some modem/dial up members...
So be warned, cheating is rare (was the first time in FB for me, seen some before IL2)but does exist !
Make your settings tighter if you dont have to host dial.uppers..

ah, yes and we kicked him...

I honestly believe that people who cheat like this are the reason our world is where it is and is going. Might sound sappy, but I'm sorry I honestly feel this way. Not much honor and honesty left it seems to me.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Try online?? Heck I tried it when you were still in diapers. I was flying online back in the old Warbirds and Air Warrior era. AW was arcadish but it was a blast back in those days. I tried online in IL2 and some in FB and got tired of blowing the hell out of everybody!! ( Aw shucks, I'm soooooo modest ) Seriously though I don't like online much anymore. It really don't float my boat and I got tired of waiting for coops to start, only to get kicked offline when things were starting up. Even with DSL I still have a bad experience.

Even tho' the complete lack of respect shown me, I guess you were flying online during the 50's? Sorry you have had such a bad experience online. I was playing Tanks in 1986 using dos to access a network against other students. Remember those green stick figured battle tanks? Not quite FB and hyper.

Back on the UFO thing, I really appreciate all of this info. I'm 50y.o. and remember Fortran and Key punchers, yikes but am new to online gaming,so when I pulled up on a ME262 by the name of II/JG69_*****(Stars so I don't give it ALL away) and he did a 90 to the left;... I thought to myself...(I flew HH-43E's and CH-53 rotary wing aircraft(helleeecoooppters for all the little ones out there) in Southeast Asia).....This just isn't right. Thanks for putting my mind at rest that I'm not having flashbacks or am just Old and in the Way.

Salute Arvo

PS. Even though I was a bad boy to do it, I joined his team and WASTED HIM!!!!
