Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

I hate whinning and begging but this is key to the continued AWESOME nature of IL-2.

With the new log features for dogfight servers Oleg can have my money any time he wants it!

I saw the JU-88 and being a HUN I'm so proud of teh way it turned out and can't wait to do some butt kickin in it.

I wonder if night fighters with vectors are far behind? humm.....

Confident that it is coming, I patiently await the dedicated server.

I suspect it may include a few surprises http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It would be nice to have the option of both but with a linux version you'd also need a linux FBD2 and Linux version of HL.

FBD2 is written in perl. No problem moving to linux.

HL is just a modified IRC daemon and client. No problem moving to linux.

Something i'm missing out because it doesn't show as 2.01 just 1.22 server..

Hello all!

Here is a method how to run dedicated server on AEP v. 2.0 or 2.01.

Just copy from game to server the following files:
mg_snd.dll, all fb_3do??.sfs but rename it to fb_3do??server.sfs, al fb_map??.sfs but rename it to fb_map??.sfs; copy files.sfs to filesserver.sfs.

Then copy patched il_server.dll file, done.

al fb_map??.sfs but rename it to fb_map??.sfs

Ok so I'm having the same problem as Gozr.

I made a backup of my dedicated server then carried those files and renamed them into it. and installed the patched il_server.dll

I can get server to start and host as 2.01 but am not able to join it. through LAN or Hyper. I can't host on UBI I'm behind a router.

Can anyone enlighten me?
