Imagine a 'street cop' game where you play an officer of the law. You and you partner are chasing a villain on foot through a suburban street. You pull ahead, ankle kick the villain who sprawls to the concrete, whacks his head on a streetlight post and lies about concussed. By the time you get back to the scene some ten seconds later, having overshot in your sprint, your partner has cuffed the suspect.

Back at the station the chief awards the collar to your partner, tells you you need more practice and that not every cop can be a champ. Your partner is awarded the 'golden handcuffs'.

This is the sort of BS that happens all the time in FB and it lames me out. That should be fixed up - before pebbles, props and all the rest of the insignificant garbage.

I think this is a realy hard problem. At the moment the credits go to the pilot who put the last bullet on the downed aircraft. But what makes a plane go down? The loss of a tail? Fire in the engine? Rookie pilot?
Some pilots return to base with leaving behind almost every movable part of the plane. Others bail out while they are only losing some oil.
So the system of "putting the last bullet in the enemy before crash" isn't that bad at all.

A couple of days ago I hit a He-111 on its way home, not even that bad. But about a minute after landing the plane exploded due to whatever and I received the credits. Fair?

The present system is much more fair than it was in real ww2... And much more accurate too.

Kill stealing is ever present. Even your AI wingman will do it to ya. You've got two choices; get over it, or let it bother you.

Kill stealing sounds alot like RL in the business world...

Come to think of it, so does alot of people trying to kill you from behind...

Credit could be awarded immediately in some situations though:
Pilot Kill
Loss of Wing / Tail

LOL, let me tell you a little story. When I was a rookie (That's police for n00b) many years ago, I got into a footchase with a guy that lasted nearly 15 city blocks. We ran over fences, around bushes, and even through a house! (I was a young-er man at the time and in pretty good shape!) The entire time I was calling out my position over the radio, not to mention running with a vest, belt and gear (Over 15 pounds of gear) and in boots, while my "Crook" had on shorts and a tank top.

Another officer rounded the corner of a street and clipped the bad guy with his fender, knocking him to the ground. He jumped out and handcuffed him. I had to take a breather for sure. I started to walk it off as other units arrived at the scene.

After everything had calmed down, I realized that my "Crook" was gone! The officer that had clipped him took him to jail after he discovered the true reason for the little foot pursuit. The law-abiding citizen had 1/2 ounce of crack cocaine and a small caliber pistol in his underwear. For a rookie (Less than 2 months on the street) officer, this would have been a sweet case!

I was sweaty, tired, and most of all angry, but you know what.. I had to get over it. LOL

That's OK though. I have moved on to way bigger and better things in law enforcement, and he is still working the same neighborhood (14 years later) and probably still "Kill stealing" other people's arrests.

I just find it funny that your scenario was nearly exactly what once happened to me. Hey, you arent that other officer are you?!?

I think a counter on damage delivered (qhile keeping death likt it is) would be enough. You could see what pilot made more damage during the current game etc...

Anyway.. this game is about shoting down planes.. not earning the credits for it.. in a wing of fighters one has to cover the other while it perfotms the work. It does not get the kill, but it is as important as the other guy.

If brute force does not solve your problem... you are not using enough!

Me being one of the first kind, i find it rather bugging that the game says "xxx shot down 'me'" after i limped all the way back home, heavily wounded (70percent view left), full of bullet holes and smoking and finally landed on one gear without breaking the engine/prop. thats just so unfair, it would have been no difference if i just had hit the refly button apparently.
