Any chance you'd share your thoughts on the 190 A series after the patch. I haven't much time to fly lately you see.

Has that silly gunsight ben tightened on the dash or is it still missing a screw ?

Any changes in performance worth noting ?
Cheers!

Hey Saburo, good to see you my friend.

My initial impressions are that the gunsight bug is fixed in 190A, but some say it may still be present in Ta-152H. I have done alot of testing stuff so I haven't got hit much.

Overall the 190's have been improved somewhat. This is mainly due to the MUCH more forgiving handling at the edge of stall in vertical maneuvers and low speed maneuvers. The aircraft is much less likely to go into a spin than before, and stall recovery is fast and sharp. This makes quick high angle of attack snap-shots more viable, before you risked going into a spin, now you will just stall but recover quickly. This is very helpful when you are 100% sure you are going to hit with a snapshot, especially with A-9 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Also, the plane seems to be able to hang on its prop more now, this may be a direct result of the more forgiving handling characteristics or something else may be going on. Speeds are about the same, the A-4 may have a little more juice at higher altitudes. The 190 also seems to retain energy a little better but that may be "patch hysteria." The guns/cannons are more effective now, which was my biggest concern. The Ta-152H got a very big boost at low altitude, and acceleration seems much better.

As for the A-6 it is identical to the A-5, their performance numbers are identical and they feel the same (which means you are good to go in '43). The 4x 151/20's are nice though http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif.

Hope all is well.

I agree, the Fw-190's havn't changed much except in terms of stalling but that was universal. Try any other plane, they basically removed stalls from AEP all together in the last patch with the exception of a few planes such as the Me-163. The gunsight appears to be fixed to me, it still breaks off sometimes but I have only had that happen once without my pilot being wounded. Of course if your pilot is wounded, then it probebly will fall off. I havn't spent much time with the Ta-152 (I mostly fly the Antons) but it seems much improved to me. Energy retention and acceleration seem much better now. Sustained climb rate is a little higher but not significantly. It really feels alot more powerful but that is all due to the greatly improved energy retention.

I build COOPs and DF maps. If you would like some of them you can get them atmy COOP page (http://www14.brinkster.com/triggerhappy770/default.htm)

I/JG1 Oesau is recruiting axis pilots who prefer to fly maximum realism. We accept both veterans and rookies. We fly in VEF2, VOW and may join other online wars in the future. Go to our forums at http://www.jg1-oesau.org/ for more details and to apply.

I noticed that also http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif It is a pity because some aircrafts at low speed can now be flown a little bit like helicopters, almost suspended at their propellers!

I still remember IL-2 with its last patch which gave a great sensations of flight!

I am still positive that A6 turns better than any other 190. A5 shakes way too much, while in A6 you can actually hold your own without shaking the plane apart.

I agree with everything that has been stated above. I would just like to add that my initial impressions both flying and flying against Fw's in general is that they can take quite a bit more damage than in 2.00. Could be that i'm being hit and hitting in the wrong places but they just seem to "soak up" quite a bit more than before. Anyone else notice this too?

I find the FW-190 to be much more vulnerable now. Way back when the 190 was a ridiculous tank with wings, then it was a tank with super-fragile glass wings, then it was too tough due to problems with guns or DM's. Now it seems better but I need more time getting hit and shooting at them to say positively but initial impressions are that is is more accurate due to changes in guns/DM's.

Well at the very least it's been an interesting progression for the Butcher Bird. I just wish my virtual pilot would have grown a bit in height over time as wellhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And you'd think gunfire would knock the BAR down, out of the way, from time to time.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

imho, all of the FWs handle better in 2.01 and are more nimble. The slow speed characteristics are much better. But they also seem to overheat faster. Damage modeling is noticably different, but I can't tell so far if it's better or worse.

I believe that in r/l the A6 had more armor than the A5, and was thus, heavier and slightly slower (by 5 kph). They seem equivalent in 2.01, but maybe the A6 will be more durable.

The 20mm overall have a greater punch. The A6 has effectiveness much more like the A9 w/ mk 108 in FB 2.00.

My impressions of the last two months revolve around dawns. Pink dawns, grey dawns, misty, rainy and windy dawns, but always dawns; first light. Shadowy Spitfires and quietness . . . . Geoffrey Wellum, First Light.

No more snap stalls, it's the king of the sky if flown properly.
More powerful gun.
Manual prop pitch in A series rocks it feels like heavy gun G-2. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No more patch please. I fell in love with 2.01 butcherbird. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Don't stall. Actually, Perfect post~stall modding is not important in air combat sim as Peace time sim...there you stall for fun when simming, in combat you almost never want to stall.
