This skin has been painted by myself as a tribute to the Men and Women that made the ultimate sacrifice during this period and is painted in the scheme that ML407 carried into war on the morn of June 6th 1944, on the tail she carried 2 doped patch repairs and the hastily applied D Day stripes, her individul code letter having been moved fwd below the cockpit area and her serial codes obscured . I have painted her invasion stripes not as freshly applied markings, but too reflect their condition as the war progressed, these rapidly wearing in those hectic days of war.

This little tribute is painted using my X1c template and D day add on's Corrected to fit the Mk 1Xe variant and then weathered down somewhat to give it a more realistic lived in appearance, something I enjoy trying to replicate. By Late 1944 the paintscheme of ML407 was altered to reveal the original larger V coding, the aircraft serial, along with the rear fuselage band and this skin version reflects the late 44 scheme seen from August onwards. The smaller V coding was overpainted and there was signs of repainting just forward of the cockpit area, these I have also tried to replicate. I hope you like this later version of this Surviving warbird.

Thank you for making my new default spit skin....I may modify it so that it reads KWA but other than that she's perfect for me.
