I have a ATI 9700 Pro (soon to be X800XTPE). What's the recommended API for Forgotten Battles Gold Pack, DirectX or OpenGL?

Thanks,

Any particular reason why OpenGL is better then DirectX? I tried both and couldn't really tell the difference.

Thanks,

OpenGL

The game is optimized for it.
Only on OpenGL do you get "Perfect" setting.

I did hear that ATI cards have better FPS on DirectX though...

That's my dilemma also, and why I keep trying to find out which of the 2 is best. The game is optimized for OpenGL, but DirectX is optimized for Windows XP (in which you run the game). Which to choose ?

So perfect setting only works with OpenGL? Why doesn't it work with DirectX? So Perfect setting using OpenGL is going to look the best correct?

yep OpenGL - it seems DirectX9 does not have some shader abilities that OpenGL has (not too sure about what it is) but its several things:

OS WinXP IS DirectX (both from the guyyawannekill - at least I do - gimme a chance and...)
...wanders off singing "The world will be a better place" http://members.home.nl/lil.labbit/smiley/elvis_3.gif
OpenGL is OPEN SOURCE (probably why Oleg used it - and many others... ya know what ya get)
GFX Cards - well same as above (only some are tied to that devil http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif -theguyyawannekill- I mean - NOT Oleg)...

but Bottom Line is
The Game Is Optimized For OpenGL...
it DOES NOT give perfect on DirectX (Not implemented)...

So its FPS against quality and eye-candy realy
